This is my 100th entry! I've been blogging at HSB for a little over a year. Who knew, a year ago, I'd still be here and enjoying it so much. Thank you to all of you who have supported me with your kind comments, interesting (and often funny) stories and encouragement. I've said this before, without you, this would be a lonely little blog. And a lot less fun!
In honor of my 100th, I want to ask you all to PRAY FOR HEATHER. Tomorrow (Thursday) is her surgery. I am praying for a miracle. Pray that she'll come out of brain surgery to remove the tumor with complete use of her body and mind. Pray for complete recovery. Pray for her family and hospital staff. Thank you and God bless you all.
I'd like to end this post with the following story (file this under Wit for Wednesday!)
This happened a few years ago. I was in the kitchen cooking and I had just cracked a few eggs. I hate the feeling of egg on my hands, so as I was washing (and washing) my hands, I said with disgust, "Oh, I just hate albumen!" My then 7 y.o. son, Alec, replied from the next room, "Who's Al Bumen?"
Science Lesson: If you don't know Al Bumen (albumen), it's the protein that allows an egg to act as a binder in recipes like meatloaf. It's also in milk but milk washes off a lot better than eggs!
