8 Things You Must Know About Me

Just kidding!  Actually, I've been tagged by babean with the infamous, "8 Things About You" tag.  There are several different ways to approach this - one could take the humorous approach, the serious, the boring (not hard to do!) or the highly personal.  Hmmm ... I'll let you know which approach I take when I'm done writing.  Without further delay, here goes ...

1.  When I was very small, I always prayed for peace on earth.  This was during the Vietnam conflict and I know it troubled my little mind.  I didn't yet know Jesus, back then.  But I prayed to God.

2.  In my early 20's, I answered the phone twice a week in the evening for a Christian radio station (KYMS in Orange County, CA).  I loved it, became good friends with a couple of deejays and led a young man to Christ over the phone one night - obviously the highlight of my time there!

3.  I have hazel eyes.

4.  This is getting tough.  I've already put a lot of me on the page here at this blog (I've been here over a year, after all!)  Is there anything new that would be interesting?  Umm ... I have lived with IBS my entire life (look it up if you feel the need).  Gosh, that's not interesting, that's depressing!

5.  My husband proposed to me outside of the AAA office in Long Beach, CA, which was down the street from the apartment I shared with two roommates.  As there was no privacy in my apartment, we used to walk down the street and sit on the low brick wall in front of the building.  No, he didn't kneel down on one knee!  And, sadly, the building is no longer there.

6.  I had my own typesetting business in CA before moving to OR in 1991.  It was called (drum roll, please), "Type By Kathryn".  O.k., now you know my birth name.  Business was good.  The name was so-so.

7.  I have six toes on one foot - fooled you!  My sister and her husband used to tease me unmercifully about my size 10 feet (with the usual amount of toes).  One Christmas, they gave me a wooden plant stand in a large box.  They told me it was a pair of shoes.

8.  And finally ... God allowed me to lead both my parents to the Lord, as well as my two sons.  Nothing else I've ever done or could ever do would top that - with the exception of seeing my young daughter accept Christ as her Saviour.

A mixed bag of info.  Now, I get to tag some of you!  If your real name has an "M" or a "V" in it, consider yourself tagged!  Let me know if you answer the tag, I'd love to read it.

....that is an ecclectic mix of info!! LOL! As for the IBS - I'm there too! Mine is now under control most of the time by taking peppermint oil capsules from the health food store everyday. Most of the time if it gets worse, I can simply take extra tablets and it settles down. Didn't know if you had ever tried this and thought it might help! I'm all for the most natural remedy possible, especially for long term illnesses. thanks for your comment too, but please pop back over and read my last entry - Joy is now home with the Father.

Hi Kate,
Are you including surnames in that tag or just Christian names?
Thanks for that very varied bag of interesting facts, including your full name. Were you called Kathryn or Katie when you were small, or always Kate? Leading four members of your close family to know Jesus is just fantastic.
I'm not sure if the cost of international postage has gone up over here or not yet. We'll find out when we post Logan's next letter. Domestic is always pretty expensive.
Blessings this week,
Paula

I was called Bigfoot in school. I now wear a men's size 10.5. Shoes are a sore point for me. No fun to wear or buy. I get excited when they fit right. I guess we have this in common too!

I have big feet too: 9 1/2. It's a sign of royalty.
I was blessed to lead my husband to the Lord; we started dating a few months later. I've always said that if I only led one person to the Lord, I'm glad it was him! I also prayed with my 2 youngest sisters when they were little, but neither of them are walking with the Lord.

the best one was that you led your parents to Christ.

there's nothing random about that. It gives me hope about my mom. Thanks for that. :) Kathryn.
