Update on Prayer Request

UPDATE:  Thank you so much for your prayers!  It was a rough day for my husband (hard on us, too!), he's been in a lot of pain.  Tonight, however, he was hungry and wanted Subway (ugh!) so that was good news.  I hate Subway but I love my husband, and I knew if he ate, it would help his strength.  After dinner, he was able to sit up and watch a video for awhile.  He has now taken 4 antibiotics and I think they are just starting to work.  I'm hoping his fever will be gone tomorrow and some pain relieved.  He's had something like this before (years ago) but he's older now and it's more frightening this time.  His condition deteriorated so fast, it was startling.  Praise the Lord he went to the doctor yesterday morning.  It's scary to watch him having trouble breathing.  This isn't respiratory, it's inflammation around his heart.  The antibiotic should take care of it, otherwise he'll need an anti-inflammatory.  Again, thanks for your prayers.  I was so scared and I've been praying all day.  However, a few hours after I posted my request, I felt the fear subsiding.  I was able to go about our day with the kids while checking in on my dh frequently.  Your prayers (and mine) are being heard by our Lord.  Thank You, Lord!  And thank you again for your prayers.

Below is what I posted earlier today:

Please pray for my husband.  He had a viral illness that has morphed into a secondary infection.  He's having trouble breathing and is in pain.  He's only been on antibiotics less than 24 hrs but his fever has gone up and he's feeling awful.  I'm scared, but he's not (thankfully).  Please pray that God would heal his body and that the antibiotics would help soon.  Poor guy, he doesn't usually complain unless he's really bad - and he's really bad right now.  Thanks so much for your prayers.  God bless you!

Todd is also thankful for your prayers.  I'm so glad this long day is over!

I'll certainly be praying! Was just checking my Google before I headed to bed and saw that you had posted - I figured something was up for you to post in the middle of the day! Praying for you too - that you will have peace! It is hard to see these strong men we are used to, hurting and weak. (((HUGS)))

Dear Kate,
This is the first time I've logged on today so I didn't know about your prayer request before. I'm sorry to hear Todd was so sick. Antibiotics are usually quick working once they're started (as he would know better than anyone, being a nurse).
Feeling like Subway would have to be a good sign.
We do worry about our men when they're sick. I'll pray that he's back on top of things within the next few days.
Blessings,
Paula

I hope you know your family is always in my prayers anyway! I'm glad hubby is feeling better. I always get scared when mine is sick too, so I understand.

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina

wow, I just read your post. Both of them. I am SOO relieved for your DH. That must have been startling for you to watch him struggle with breathing. whoa. So glad I got to read the part of the post with the extra part first, or else I would have been worried for you!
