Living for the King

Dec. 2, 2008 - Seasons

I have wanted to start a blog for a few months for the simple reason that I am a bad scrapbooker.  So I thought this would be a good way to chronicle the happenings around here for our boys who are growing up way too fast (ages 13, 9, and 4).

I was thinking today about the Christmas season.  I thought back to how hard it was to even decorate when the boys were younger.  I found it to be a very exhausting endeavor.  And then I thought back to this past Saturday and how I came home from work to find that the boys and their dad had put up the Christmas tree and decorated the whole house.  It was very sweet of them.  My how times have changed though.  My boys have somehow changed from Christmas bulb destroyers to being capable of putting up the whole tree and doing a really good job.

I thought about how that season of having really young children around has passed.  That's the thing about seasons--they pass.  Each season has its own sweetness but a different kind.

Homeschooling has been such a blessing to our family.  It has helped us to stay close as a family and experience those seasons together.

Those seasons of little ones do pass all too quickly, don't they? And aren't you just so thankful for the young men the boys have become?!

I'm so glad that you are blogging. :O)
