Nov. 1, 2006 - Book Review: The Last Sin Eater
Here's another must read from Francine Rivers. Honestly, she is one of the best novelists I've ever read. I actually had to read the last pages of The Last Sin Eater because the suspense was just too much.
The Last Sin Eater is a wonderful tale of hidden sin, the impact of evildoing on many generations, and the most awesome, wonderful redemption imagineable. The practice of having a sin-eater for a community is a historical reality--a rather depressing and sad one, too. The Last Sin Eater tells the tale of a small Appalachian community who's relied on a sin-eater to take their sins upon himself at each one's death, of the spiritual bondage that accompanied the practice, and of the two young people who were first to experience the blessed relief when the real "sin-eater" (Jesus!) becomes the Lord of their lives.

You have time to read novels?! How do you do it?!
I suppose if I could knit and read at the same time...
Really, I love to read, I've just done so much less of it ever since I started knitting!
Have a good one,

I find Francine River's Novels to be more edifying sometimes than a true story for me. This one was a harder one for me.
