The Island of Brownbread

Land ho!  Here's the recipe for brown bread so you can make it yourself:

Brown Bread
__________________________________________________________________________________

Combine:
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup each raisins and chopped nuts (optional)
  • 2 cups sour milk



Bake in greased pan at 325 F for 1 hour.


Serve with butter and enjoy!

I actually give this one 5 stars! I thought it was really REALLY good! Especially warm with butter. And it was good the next day toasted with butter too. A new favorite recipe for me. It was so easy to make too!

it reminds me of cornbread. i gave it 3 cause it had a sort of tingy flavor along the crust but maybe it was just me.
