Celebrating the "Beautiful Mystery".....

New Years day....

Pork and Saurkraut is suppossed to be good luck for the upcoming year -we don't really believe it, in fact we all talked about either eating the stuff ALL week for some better results this year or foregoing  it all together. In the end, tradition and the comfort of a meal already figured out won out. We decided to make  eating together each New years day a new tradition.... I can live with that:)

This chocolate fondue was YUM !!!

Chuck and Steph

Dee and  Greg. We are so blessed to have both these couples as friends. Lots of laughs when we're together...

and this.....  I'm at a loss for words. Remember yesterday when I said I woke to lots of cars which meant there were some people who stayed over? Well, Tyler was the targeted, unfortunate deep sleeper, he woke up with one less eyebrow. These boys are something else. I wouldn't think of recording  here some of the things they have done.....what is left there is actually penciled in.... poor guy. No wonder Calin didn't sleep at all - not one wink..... I wouldn't either down there:)

Well, our day was about  saying GOODBYE to 2008 and hoping for a better year this year! We were talking about how kinda scary it is , we really have no idea what will hapen. When we looked  over the past year and started lisitng everything that happened... wow....it's good we have a BIG God....

Jan. 2, 2009 - New Year's fare

We always eat black-eyed peas, which represent luck and lots of "coin". We SHOULD eat the greens with the peas. They represent "green backs or $$". Of course we don't believe in the superstition, but enjoy doing it anyway! Can't do cabbage I am afraid though.
Since you are a long time homeschooling Momma, perhaps you could drop by my blog and give me a little advice. I posted a question and am interested in how other Mom's manage.
Hope this is a good year for you!
