Sorry to put the pressure on you Bonni but... those of you who know Bonni know what I'm talking about. She has the gift of encouragment.... the right words to put you back on track, and to get you re-motivated.Dee and I enjoyed the night out. We left a little early because we were -ready- imagine that? M asked when I'd be home and I said 9:30 ........thankfully,I had the presence of mind to add the " ish." It ended up being "ish "(10:20 or so) We stopped at the Trolley for a cherry coke and to kill some time before the meeting. That was fun- we never get to just sit and talk-ya know (ha ha ) The house was already full when we got there. Some people I knew, some I didn't. One friend I hoped would be there, was... she is one of those poeple that no matter how long between converstaions- we just pick right up where we left off.... how awesome is that....got alot of new ideas and listened to alot of issues other people are having. It puts things in perspective...Dee and I discussed our questions that don't seem to have any good answers all the way home. Bonni had this meeting to "fullfill an obligation" for her co-op.....Thanks for putting up with us ... no pressure Bonni, but when's the next one???:) Maybe I'll start another one? I hosted one years ago..... food for thought. M and M left for Pitt. agian this morning- just till tomorrow afternoon...My dad is taking Devan with him to the cider press this afternoon. And me??? I'm calling AT&T for like the 4th month in a row- and probably a dozen calls total.....If ever there is a company that cannot get thing sstraight- they get the prize. It is beyond me. then again..... alot of things are.... |

Dr. Suess was here this weekend....... he forgot to take thing 1 and 2 with him when he left....who knows?.... maybe they will do what "things" do and fly through here and clean everything up.....that would be great..... Started a new series at church this weekend. It's called "No easy answers". Kinda cool what they are doing. They told us to email them all of our hard questions - all of the "why this or that?" Now, they are going to spend the next 7 weeks reading them and addressing them. He mentioned yesterday NOT to email anymore questions because they have been totally swamped. Sometimes there just are no easy answers..... |

To: You know who you are.... http://www.wgal.com/video/21164152/index.html Here you go...... this is what you wanted, no more complaining:)
Left to walk this morning as usual..... only we never did walk..... went inside and had a wonderful breakfast instead (I could get used to this......:) Thanks Dee and Greg. You guys are great!! We saw the neatest decorative tall, thin boxes that would hold any tall flowers or grasses at a craft stand at the goat races on Sat. We took pics of them because they are such a great gift idea.... I had no idea I would be a recipient of not just 1 but 3 of them. They arrived last night around 9pm via some very important people. I am going to paint them today and then I will post pics.....

Only in "Lancaster co." ..... they race goats. I t might be one of the most ridiculous events I have ever attended... it is just crazy.
Lining up to race. The owner has to run with the goat and cross the finish line with the goat. There were a few unruly goats that did not really want to participate. That was interesting. One goat yanked his leash right out of the owner shand and ran without her. That poor thing was disqualified cuz she didn't cross the line with her goat..... who in the world thought of doing something like this????
Chocolate pie for me and "coke and a smile " for him:)... |

Mandie brought Bobby over last night . He is so cute. We walked over to Jens so we could let the babies play together and Jen remarked that Bobby J loved playing with Lily K...... cute:)
Steve and Dawn came in to go jeepin last night. We were going to look for deer when we got sidetracked looking at a friends new house....... then we came back and sat around the fire for awhile. Enjoyed coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls (thanks Ann- even if your dad didn't save me one for b-fast:) |

Glen Beck has been raving about this book , saying all kids should have to read it before graduating. So, I decided to get it and do it with the kids. I'll be reading it and coming up with some kind of cirriculum to go with it for next year. I read bits and pieces already and it IS very interesting. Lots of stuff we were never told or taught........ We all helped Dee and Greg clean out their garage last night. Gram got a dumpster and we loaded it:) I'm sure they are feeling alot "lighter".... how do we accumulate so much stuff- I know I need to go through our junk room again too..... never ending... Nothing much going on here.... Note: Glen Beck did not write the book. We watch him on Fox news - where you get the unslanted view of whats REALLY going on.......watch it.... |

Ash, Margret, and Colleen.....
looks like they are going somewhere........wherever the "boys" are , I'm sure....... This pic is from when she moved back down in Aug...... It was fun having Ash home again this weekend. Her hair is now back to dark..... thanks to Andrea and her color magic....:) It is a beautiful fall day- still warm and sunny. I'm headed out to the garden to see what I can pick... |

Dillan had been getting quite frustrated with this truck. He and Mark replaced the starter, ignition switch, fuel pump, and 2 other parts??? Finally after HOURS of work, it is running again. Hopefully , Dillan learned a little about working on cars....
He was thrilled with me taking this picture-NOT....... Last night he went to Mandies dads house for dinner. Mandie was watching her brothers little baby again. So, Dillan calls me around 9:15 to tell me that he had taken the baby to Mandies Moms house b/c her brother was home from work. (It is Mandies week with her dad so she stayed there) I asked him if they cared that he was transporting the little one to which he replied "No, Mom, they trust me!!" I asked him if he buckled him in real tight and he assured me that he had. He said that they had given him a bath and HE had fed him his bottle and as soon as he started driving Bobby fell asleep. Dillan said that he drove "really slow" becasue it was raining and he didn't want anything to happen to his little charge. How sweet. For a split second it felt like he was talking about his own child....I was very proud of him and the responsibility he showed. |

Devan has been wanting this new lego set for weeks now. He cleaned Marks room up for him last week and got $20 (worth every penny!!) so here they are playing with the new set.
I walked outback last night on my way to Dee's and was just shaking my head at al lthe stuff in the yard that just should not be..........here are a few examples...
We would definitly get the prize for having the most pairs of sneakers in any one household! I keep trying to tell these boys-esp Dillan to GET RID off some of them. When I point any out in particular he tells me exactly when he uses that pair..."oh, those are my ____________shoes"... Well, so far ,Mark has changed the starter and the igition switch in Dillans truck. Now they think he needs a new fuel pump. Dillan said yesterday he is"tired of pouring $ into this truck".....welcome to the real world, buddy! Had a great weekend in Lynchburg with Ashley. She wanted a big "sunday dinner" like we do here every week so I got everyhting to do that. I put the chicken in before we left for church. When we got home I started on the rest of the stuff. I had just gone back the hall to do something in her room when we heard this TERRIBLE crash!! I came out and tentitivly opened th e oven door to find that the 9x13 pan holding all the chicken had burst into a million pieces. That was a mess. Had to send Dillan and Tyler out to BoJangles for chicken. Waited till the oven cooled down then proceeded to try to clean it up......cut myself a few times. On Sat. I bought Ashley a cheap hand mixer to have at the house and so we could mash potatoes... I used it for maybe 5 min. and THAT went up in smoke - ??????????????? M and M are thrilled to be working the night shift last night and tonight:) They are both sound asleep right now.. Anom: No, I never read that book but it does sound interesting..... |

I read an article in the local newspaper last week that confirmed my suspicions about the shortage of monarch caterpillars this year. Our cold, damp spring was the culprit. Alot of the milkweeed developed a fungus not condusive for the egg hatching process. HOWEVER my friends Dee and Greg went hunting for them at their cabin this weekend and they found about 24. They were kind enough to share the spoils:) THANKYOU!! After giving two to my little neighbor friends and two more to some other special kiddos, I think I have about 10 to see through the process with the kids I babysit. Sooooo fun!!! Now to find some decent milkweed for feeding my little charges...
Stayed home this weekend. Got alot of painting done that i 've been wanting to do. All the ceilings throughout the common space and the living room and hallway walls.. and yes, he let me have the color I wanted:) (thanx to my paint picking partner for her encouraging words in favor of my color) Took the 2 youngest boys to Kuppys Diner Friday night. I had gone there with Dee and her Mom a few weeks ago and wanted to take the kids. It has been in business since 1931 and I don't think there have been any changes made to the place. It is like stepping back into time- very cool. And the food is great!!! Mark then took Eric to the e-town football game, Devan went with Cade for hi s birthday which left me here alone .... with my pandora radio .... to paint from 6pm- 11:00pm. I was back at it Sat. by 9am and didn't sit down till 5:45pm...wheww. I'm glad it's done. Sunday concluded another great weekend at Lcbc... finding out what to do when 'happily ever after" dosen't turn out so happy. Dillans starter went out on his truck so they spent all afternoon working on getting the old one out- no luck. Monday M and M worked so Dillan and his friend tried to get the old starter out, they made a little progress but didn't get it. M got home around 2:30 and tried again.... finally he went and got the neighbor guy who owns an S10 and is a mechanic, he showed him the trick to getting them out... so now thats done, but his battery isin't holding the charge now....... cars....I think we all need to go back to horses. M left this morning for Pittsburgh for the rest of the week. I have extra bbsitting kids since my Aunt is in a warm sunny place with lots of sand and blue water..... looking forward to the weekend- going to Ashleys!! |
|
My Aunt Connie and my G-ma.... Aunt Connie and Uncle Craig leave at 1 am tomorrow morning for Punta Cana..... sigh.......
My cousin Kim..... she is the happiest person I know!
My Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Brenda. I helped my Uncle reload lots of shot gun shells when I was living with them.....he loves to talk about that:) My Aunt was the secratary at the school I went to so I would go to the office during my free periods to sit and talk to her...... We had a great time at b-fast. We really need to get together more often!

What is it about some moments that they become etched in time. Of all the millions of moments we experience and store in our brains, there are a few that remain so vivid- even remembering certain words that were spoken.... There have been a few "there he goes" moments with Dillan.... *him being wheeled away for surgery at 3 months old...... * him leaving to go with Aunt Hope for groceries when he was only about 8 months old.... *him him walking into his "big boy " Sunday school class.... *Him walking to his first piano lesson with Ashley.... (that one didn't work out well... as happy and head held high as he went that day, he came home looking just the opposite. I guess piano wasn't his gifting afterall...) *him leaving to go on a cruise (WITHOUT ME!!!!!!!!), flying for the first time ever...... *him and Mandie walking down the alley ,hand in hand........ and now this......... *him driving away for th every first time by himself.... well, Chris was with him...... Yes, he got his licence. I am relieved that I don't have to worry about it for him anymore ,but now the new worry begins. He is such a free spirit- does not like to be held down..... I know some other ones like that as well so I guess he comes by it rightly. He is off already this morning with Chris to try to get motorcycle permits..... boys.....and their toys...one has to be so careful riding like that! |
|
Here is Dillans baby- 5 speed. I wasn't sure how he'd do driving it but he drove it like he's been driving 5 speed for years..... which leads me to believe that he has been..... how could you just jump in and drive a stick shift....when I asked him about it he did say he had practiced in his friends car. |
|
Small, but I did get a couple........I left a message for my dad last night..... he'll call this morning wanting all the details , I'm sure:) Started school yesterday. Went pretty well. For some reason this verse keeps coming back to me."Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we will reap, if we faint not." Pressing on..... |
