Going Against the Grain

Friday, September 1, 2006 - Week 2 ends.

This is how we feel after our 1st and 2nd week of school.  Boy it's sure good to know I heard God's voice.  To hear Sarah, who was not thrilled with school in the previous 4 years say, "Mom I love school this year.  I love the new way we're learning", is soothing to my heart.  Even further confirmation was Emma repeating to me what she learned in science--I was amazed at what she retained simply by us reading together, doing an experiment, and lapbooking.  When asked how a bird can fly she recited, "Well there is more air pushing down on top of the wings and less pressing from under the wings".  I just had to smile.  She was so proud to give her answer.

My two girls spent 5 hours on science and history today and had smiles on the entire time.  Their creative sides came out in full bloom and they didn't want to stop.  And to be honest, neither did I.    My heart was so full today as I sat watching them.  God is so faithful.
