Going Against the Grain

Wednesday, July 16, 2008 - Voila!

Isn't it wonderful when you can put a huge smile on a loved one's face?  My sweetie's birthday was yesterday and I worked really hard to make one of his favorites~ carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.  While I absolutely hate both of those, I wanted to do something extra special for Matt.  As usual, the girls were in the kitchen helping me.  Sarah chopped pecans, Emma grated carrots.  They also went to 3 different neighbors when we discovered we did not have enough oil.  Kayla frosted and Sarah/Emma sprinkled toasted coconut.  Unfortunately, my camera is still not working right so we didn't get pictures.  The cake was so pretty and Matt loved it.  Thank you Lord!  He even gave me the highest compliment and said it was the best carrot cake he's ever had.  Wow~ that was wonderful!

I like your blog. The colors look good with your title. I take it your experimenting with templates?

How sweet of you to make something you don't like just to make him happy. Thats a good wifey right there.

How ya doing sweetie? I sure miss seeing ya at buddies. I will admit though that I am not as involved as I use to be.
We should get the girls together soon.

About Me

When people say, "What about socialization?", do they really know what they're saying? Socialized: Under group or government control. Socialization: The adoption of the behavioral patterns of the surrounding culture. Why would we want either of these?
