Thoughtful Thursday - Comments Welcome!

Think on this......

"If we find ourselves in a position where we feel that serving our families gets in the way of serving Christ's Kingdom, then we should fall on our faces and repent, because, chances are, if we're not serving the Kingdom, we're serving ourselves instead.....living for self will only keep us further from that true joy we're after as women" ~ Passionate Housewives Desperate for God

What does Matthew 24:45 have to say about this? "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?"

What about Matthew 25:45? "Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' "

"What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the word and faith from which the obedience of the work flow." ~ Martin Luther

Jan. 24, 2008 - My Thoughts

Posted by blessedmomof10
I am not sure why some women feel that their families get in the way of serving God.... I guess I am just a very simple woman and my mother set the example to me ... being at home and serving our families is serving God .... we are preparing the next generation of children to build up His kingdom! There is nothing greater we can be doing at this time........I worry about women who spend their lives at church.... I worry about the image they are giving their children -- women have not been asked to put "church" before family....... and yet some feel that when they do it is God they are serving first..... I don't get that..... .

Now, I do have some "plans" of what I hope to do once the children are grown and married..... I do hope my husband and I can go on missions of some sort..... and I also would love to be able to go back to college and get my MSW to do homestudies for adoptive parents......

But for this season -- God has called me to rear up HIS children...... for such a time as this........

Just my thoughts ~~
