Nebraska abortionist wants to carry on Tiller's mission - so sad!

Posted in ProLife

This is heartbreaking! I can't believe how blinded these abortionists are! I've had friends who had baby's at 21, 28 and 30 weeks and they ALL survived! I can't imagine killing babies of those ages (or any age, for that matter, as they are so perfectly formed so early on) and calling it a "service" to women! It's nothing less than murder!

Jun. 29, 2009 - 21 Weeks

Posted by Anonymous
To my knowledge, and I'm currently a fourth year medical student going into OB/GYN, the shortest gestational period for a preemie to survive was a few hours short of 22 weeks. If your friend's pregnancy is the very high-profiled and medically documented case that I am referring to then I apologize. If not, then you should be far more careful with "guestimations" on such a sensitive and personal topic.

You're right...It is a sensitive and personal topic...especially to the unborn babies involved in this "debate" on life! Whether or not the baby can survive outside the womb, it is STILL a baby!

Yes, one of my friend's 2nd preemie was 21 weeks 4 days! She was born 5 years ago at CMC in downtown Charlotte. At the time they thought she was 22 weeks 1 day, which is why they attempted to save her, but when calculated later by looking at previous ultrasounds and LMP, they found that she was only 21 weeks 4 days.

As for medical journals....that was the least of the family's priorities at that point in their life (she struggled to stay alive for months on end, but is alive and healthy today!). I have no knowledge of that, since we were all a bit pre-occupied at the time. See, that's the problem with the medical community....they're far more concerned with documentations of what SHOULD be, rather than focusing on what COULD be if one would try to save a life, instead of justifying death.

Be careful that you don't let your "knowledge" lower your standards of patient care.....yes, babies are patients, too, no matter how old or young.
