Critical Comments on the Duggars 19th Child - Fools Lack Wisdom and Embrace Folly

Posted in Quiverfull

When you read the online news articles about the Duggar family expecting their 1st grandchild and 19th child, the comments you read are anywhere from quite pleased to irritated. Most are overly critical and yes, some are even downright frightening! The negative and HATEFUL comments really bothered me. Not just because I, like the Duggars, allow God to plan my family, but because I can't believe that one person would say such nasty and mean things about another person whose personal choices have no impact on the critical person's life. Why? This is what the Bible says about such people.

  • Fools are wise in their own eyes: "Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him." Proverbs 26:12
  • Fools speak freely in anger: "A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control." Proverbs 29:11
  • Fools think their opinion is fact and does not seek out truth: "A fool finds no pleasure in understanding, but delights in airing his own opinions." Proverbs 18:2
  • Fools don't want wisdom; there is no fear of the Lord: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline." Proverbs 1:7
  • Fools are always finding a way to quarrel, while the righteous are at peace: "It is to a man's honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel." Proverbs 20:3
  • Fools enjoy their own folly: "Folly delights a man who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding keeps a straight course." Proverbs 15:21
  • Fools love to mock ; they love their simple ways, avoiding knowledge at all costs: "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?" Proverbs 1:22
  • Fools reject Jesus' instructions and build their lives on sand: "But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand." Matthew 7:26
So, criticism of the godly is to what we are to expect. Those who walk in the knowledge of the Bible and truly see children as a BLESSING and REWARD will desire these blessings in abundance, just as the fools desire the blessing and abundance of money and material objects. The difference is, we are able to take our blessings with us into eternity (prayerfully into Heaven), but as the fools pass into eternity they will leave their riches on earth to be consumed by fire.

REMEMBER this Scripture..."In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:12-17

Expect persecution for your beliefs, no matter how small. CONTINUE on in what the Holy Spirit has made clear to you through Scripture and do not let the fools of this world deceive or anger you.

Blessings to you,
Lisa Metzger

It's funny how those most critical of the Duggars are the very same people that scream there is no absolute right or wrong, just what's right for you or for me. They're the very same people who don't want my belief system crammed down their throats. The very same people who believe in "choice". Evidently they change their tune when someone "chooses" something that doesn't fit in their system. Then they take on the very role they claim to abhor, sanctimonious undertones and all.
