My CM Homeschool

Jun. 30, 2008 - Out in the West Texas Town of El Paso...

We had to drive to El Paso (1400  miles one way!) so that my husband could meet with a  man about a possible job.  I wanted to see tthe  city first hand.  We have moved our household 11 times since 2002 and I appreciate my dh including me in the process.

We have been studying the desert and ancient Eqypt for the last month with A World of Adventure.  It has been so much fun.  It was especially nice to be able to actually go to the desert as a final field trip!

I lived in Las Cruces for about 15 years, and yes, the sunsets here are beautiful. I'm not crazy about El Paso itself, but there are benefits - great Mexican food, no floods, tornados, etc, a very laid back pace to life. The kids and I are hoping to get to White Sands later this summer and Carlsbad Caverns on the same trip - probably after it cools down a bit. Do you know if you'll be relocating?

I have to say I hope you don't have to move to El Paso! I grew up there (lived there from age 7-18) and don't miss it one bit!

I'm being a bit harsh. There are people who love the desert. White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns are awesome. The sunsets are more beautiful there that anywhere else I've seen (I think it's the pollution.) And I did meet Jesus there!
