Four in Fruita

• May. 23, 2006 - 12 Things I love!

The smell of my three year old's head after a nap.

The sound of the wind through the big Cottonwood tree outside my bedroom window.

The way my 10 year old uses me as a pillow while watching a movie.

The sound of my husband's voice reading to the children in the room down the hall.

The way the desert in Arizona smells after it rains.

Telling my 8 year old to dry her tears and not care if she is made fun of for wearing pink and she comes out of her room the next day in a total hot pink outfit. (You go girl!)

Tulips in snow.

My 12 year old telling me I don't have to read the subtitles  on his video game we're playing together. "Mom, I can read." (We worked REALLY hard for that. It's music to my ears.)

Hearing my children pray!

My 12 year old kissing me in front of all his friends. He's not a mama's boy, but he sure loves his mama!

Reading the Psalms.

Falling asleep in my husband's arms.

Oh, Carolyn, I loved these! Hearing Gary read to or play with the children--yeah, that's one of my favorites, too. And falling asleep in his arms definitely ranks right up there. Thanks for such a positive, encouraging post!

Just wanted you to know that your family has been in my thoughts and prayers. I'm looking forward to hearing how your family "vacation" went! I hope you were blessed and able to bless others, too.

Brings back memories. Our youngest son is 9.

I loved the one about the three year old's hair!

One of the things I love is how my 22 month old grandaughter holds on when I pick her up. You know, with her little arms and legs wrapped around me.

I love how she laughs so easily--and makes all of us laugh!
Blessings,
Harriet

About Me

Hi! I journey through this teaching at home path here in Fruita Colorado. I have been married to my best friend for 16 years and we desire to make this homeschooling thing a whole lifestyle not just schooling at home. My kids are 12, 11, 9, and 4. We enjoy skiing, (I enjoy the lodge), art, film making, hiking, science, working in our yard, rocks & fossils, building things and having Dad read aloud at night - anything from The Lord of The Ring to Henty to The Very Last First Time. We want to be real to our neighbors and reflect a Christian worldview and the hope we have in Christ to a needy world all around us. We don't like wash!
