Four in Fruita

• Jul. 7, 2006 - Math Question!

I'm wondering if anyone out there has used Making Math Meaningful and now is into high school math? What are you using? MMM doesn't go beyond Jr. High level and I hate to leave it! Any suggestions for upper level math for the "right brain" crowd? Do you think going to Saxon would be a huge change?

I would love to know what others have done! Thank you!

Hey Carolyn, did you read my post about the Life of Fred series? (I think it's from June.) We'll be starting that this year with the three older girls. It's definitely a different approach than Saxon, more of a literature base. If you want to look at our books first, feel free to come by!

Timberdoodle is promoting a company called Teaching Textbooks for upper level math. It looks good, if pricey.

About Me

Hi! I journey through this teaching at home path here in Fruita Colorado. I have been married to my best friend for 16 years and we desire to make this homeschooling thing a whole lifestyle not just schooling at home. My kids are 12, 11, 9, and 4. We enjoy skiing, (I enjoy the lodge), art, film making, hiking, science, working in our yard, rocks & fossils, building things and having Dad read aloud at night - anything from The Lord of The Ring to Henty to The Very Last First Time. We want to be real to our neighbors and reflect a Christian worldview and the hope we have in Christ to a needy world all around us. We don't like wash!
