We got to Hawaii late at night. In the morning we went to the beach. It was awesome. As soon as we were done at the beach we went back to the hotel, It was just a couple blocks away from the beach. We went into the big huge COLD pool upstairs and there was a hot tub too. We did that everyday. One day we all went to the beach. Dad took me and Darren surfing. Darren went on the boogie board and me and dad went on the surf board. When Darren got too tired, he went on the surf board and i went on the boogie board. The boogie board was fun. A boogie board is a thing that i don't know how to describe. It is smaller that a surfboard and people can ride on it and it won't sink. It's like a big flutter-board. I was mad at Darren because he caught more waves than i did. One day we were all waiting for Grannie. We waited for a really long time. I thought i saw Grannie's airplane come in. I was at the beach and i could see a whole bunch of airplanes going by and landing. In one second i thought i saw Grannies' . I asked mom if i we could go back to the hotel to see if she were there already. We went back to the hotel. Grannie was not there. Dad kept knocking on the door to tease us to see if we would come and think he was Grannie. Robin went out to tease us too but then she saw someone in the hallway called... GRANNIE!!!! Dad said "Grannie's here" and i said " I don't believe you!" Then i said "I will believe you this time. I ran out into the hallway standing so i ran and hugged her as hard as i could. As soon as Grannie got in she got a whole bunch of groceries and we had also just gone shopping and we were all saying " we just bought groceries grannie!" and all the groceries wouldn't fit in the little fridge because it was as big as a box. We had to eat the groceries so we ate 20 waffles for snack that night. MMMM MMM. ---carrie

In the morning
In the morning i wake up and then i get dressed and do everything i need to do in the morning. then i go find dad, wake him up and he gets ready to go. We get our shoes and coats on and go outside. We let Sevdi out to roam around. this time i tried to find dad and he was way downstairs sleeping and i had to check the whole house and it was very tiring. I think he was sleeping down there because it is Gramps' bed and it is the most comfortable bed in the house. When we went out, we let Sevdi out and she walked around and all the horses were close to her pen. Dad gave the chickens water and feed and the rabbits too. We took Sevdi's food, put it out by the road and she ate it while we went back inside. Then Dad left and i stayed inside. I had english muffins and hot chocolate with little tiny marshmallows in it. It was very very good.

Sadie's Birthday

On Friday we had Sadie's birthday. It was a lot of fun because there were a lot of people there. Mom made mashed potatoes, corn, sausages and chicken and salad, and gravy. The things that i took was corn, chicken, mashed potatos and a drink of pop. We went downstairs to play tag. If you tag somebody, then they are it. It's called normal tag.  When it was time to open presents, Sadie opened them all quick. One present she really liked was a little horsie that mom got her and a little kittie that auntie shauna got for her. Those were her favorite things. I could tell because she was smiling and playing with them a whole bunch. She also had one other thing. A little baby in a stroller with a "susie". That's what grandma got her. We had ice-cream cake. It was very very good. After that we went dowstairs to play again. We played only one round and then we sat down. Then Darren said, "How about we go play outside... we can play flashlight tag" and everyone said "YEAHHHH!" and we all ran outside.  The game we played outside was flashlight tag but first Darren split us into teams. There was one team with three, and the two other teams only had 2 and we ran around holding hands. If you got touched, your whole team had to be "it" and got to use the flashlight to find the other teams. The flashlight was very small. Another game we played was where we had to find a big huge shovel and also a pole that was very but short. First one team had the shovel. We hid it somewhere and would line up and the other team could run right through. When we said go, the other team would run and find the pole. When they found it they would have to go touch the trailer or the quad. Once i said, let's look on the grass so we stepped on the grass and found it. We started running to the quad. I handed it to Brittany because she was on my team. She started running and stood on the quad and raised it above her head and yelled "We Got It!!!" They started belly laughing at us. Brittany looked carefully at it, but it was the wrong shovel. I walked away a little ways and yelled back... "I wondered why it felt so light!!" Everyone belly-laughed again.

Things I did
One day we went out to hunt with dad. We were going to get white-tailed deer. Instead, we got 2 grouse and a raven. As soon as we stopped, Robin started running and looking around with Darren. Darren layed down and Robin came bouncing through the bush over mine and Dad's head and over Darren's head and Robin tripped on a rock that Darren had and fell over onto her belly and started belly laughing. It was very funny. We were hunting with somebody and they came as soon as we shot the birds. Their names were Paul and Chris. We started walking a little ways and we didn't find anything except for another grouse but Dad missed it. We walked even a little farther and we found a deer stand. There was a big huge bush that you could walk right through. Robin found this big huge stick caught between some other ones and a big huge tree right next to it. She started jumping on it and it felt like a trampoline. After that, we walked back. There were a lot of puddles and bogs. It was wet. Then we got in our car and drove away. After a little while, Chris and Paul called us. They said they got a deer. Dad said he thinks it might be in the same spot.

Yesterday and Today
Today we played music. Everytime we play music, when it comes to an exciting song like Will the Circle Be Unbroken? or Soldiers' Joy or The Girls I Left Behind, something starts to happen. My chair starts moving. My insides jiggle all over. I got up early this morning to give Sevdi some food with Dad. When Dad let her out she started barking and we didn't know what she was barking at until we turned and saw 3 deer. They were white-tails. I could tell because they have white tails. Sevdi got to the fence and then she looked at me. Then I said "Go get em!" and then she started running after them. We thought she wouldn't come back. We went to Gaunt's place on the other side. I thought i saw some deer and i think it was because it moved and ran into the bushes. Then I wished that Sevdi would start barking and then we would know where she was. Dad said that dogs like that start chasing deer and then you never ever see them again. Then we heard a bark behind us. We looked and it was Sevdi. First she didn't know who we were then she saw us more. She started running. i had a prickle in my shoe. I went down to get it out and Sevdi started trying to get on me and see if i was okay. We brought her back to where the goats were. She went to go eat. We went inside to eat cereal and everyone woke up. That was today. Now I'll tell you about yesterday. Dad took us for a drive. He was going to see if we could hunt on somebodies' property. As soon as we got there there were only 3 dogs and no one else there. Darren and Mom and Dad said that one looked like Zip. I don't remember Zip because I was only a baby. Dad walked over to the door and rang the doorbell but no one came. We were going to drive back home but we saw a porcupine. Dad wouldn't stop, then he said alright, and he let us chase the porcupine in the suburban. It put up it's quills and started running. Then it came to a little tree and started climbing. It's face looked weird, I couldn't see it very good. He ran like a baby crawling. It was funny and fun. We also saw three grouse. We went over to this place and Dad said "Whoah! Look!" and we all looked. There were 7 Elk! One had big big huge antlers and dad said that in 2 more days he could shoot that one. We also saw 8 deer, and mom saw one beaver. When we drove back there was a white-tailed buck, but it wasn't too big, in our driveway. That was yesterday and today!!!

toothless grin and skinless knees
Today i woke up feeling very very very happy. mom said to me "we're going to go to the dentist today." When we went, they took me into the back room first. They thought i was going to get the same as Darren but really i wasn't. then they said to me, so you're ready to take some teeth out... mom had said to me when we were together... you are going to get a filling in!... and THEY said i was going to get some teeth out and i did not get it!. I didn't say anything because i was too shy. Then as soon as i got out mom looked at me and they had pulled 2 teeth out and put it in a tiny treasure chest that fit 2 eye teeth in it!. Mom didn't know what to say because she didn't want me to have my teeth out, she just wanted a filling like robin. Mom told them that i was only supposed to get a filling, not 2 teeth pulled out and a filling. Then they said they wouldn't charge mom! then when mom was driving out, she was talking to dad on the phone and she told him the whole story. One lady was comming and mom just drove out further and as soon as she went past, she waved her fist and i thought she was going to yell at mom through the window. Then when i got home we were playing races outside. I said "go" and everyone ran around the suburban 2 times. Then i skinned my knees on both knees and made holes in my pants.  Then Auntie shauna came over and then i had to go. bye.

The funeral
We went to the funeral and played music there. We played Will the circle be unbroken, boil the cabbage down, ashokan farewell, and the tennessee waltz. When we were starting to play the songs we had an electronic keyboard and when mom started playing it was out of tune and she didn't know what happened. It was in a different key. A lady came up behind her and pressed a button twice and then it was right. Then we played and they cried. And then after the funeral i was following sadie around in the sanctuary. I sat on a seat and she climbed up beside me and there is a window behind us. Three girls poked their heads up and ran away. Then they came in and Robin and Ellie came with me. The girls came. One that was very very very funny, sat on a chair and said "Hi Jesus!!" She was saying it to a little statue of Jesus on the cross. Then they all asked us to play tag but we said no because mom had told us not to run around in there. There was a little jar up in the front of the church. One of the kids told us that there was ashes in it. One girl told robin: "My grandma is in that jar!"One of the girls,,, i think the oldest one said "we haven't seen our grandma for a very long time and now she's gone."

Walking to my Grandmas'
Tonight we walked to our grandmas through our trails in the bushes. We took our dog with us. We let her go with no leash on her. If she got too far away, we whistled and made kissing noises and clapped our hands but mostly i whistled... it's easier. haa haa. When we got there me, robin, ellie, and sadie were playing downstairs. We played air hockey. we piled them all up and then i turned on the thing and i said get ready, get set, go! and i made the pucks go all over. Everyone started making them go in everybody's goal. It was fun. When it was time to go, we didn't want to walk all the way back so dad and darren walked back through the bushes with sevdi and we drove with grandma. Our grandma is learning spanish. Sadie was saying some of the spanish words. she said OLA and it was very very very very very very very funny. Grandma laughed and thought it was very very funny and made her say it over and over again. Then we got home and had to go to bed.

The book I'm reading is "Pocahontas and the Strangers" it's about this little girl and she's with her brother Nantaquas. Nantaquas was mad because she let an eagle go when it was caught in a trap. He wanted to cage it up, bring it to his father and make it nice. Pocahontas didn't want that to happen. She said if he caged it up it would die. Then Nantaquas got really mad and said "go back to the village NOW!" and he said "You're never going to come hunting with me ever, ever , ever again." It broke her heart. She went back to the village. Pocahontas wanted somone to talk to so she went to an old woman named Hapsis. Hapsis told her that long ago she talked to the Englishmen. She learned some of their language and they learned hers. After awhile, her life changed. There was a meeting going on with the men. They were saying that Englishmen were settling and making houses on their property and it took a half of the day to get there. Her father, Powhatan is the cheif. That's as far as i am in the book....

My baby sister Sadie
YESTERDAY my sister Sadie chewed up a little yellow ball that had a smiley face on it. Then i had to throw it all in the garbage. Everytime she gets up from her nap she calls for mom. I come and scratch on her door and say "who needs a lickin'?" and she says "bum!" I shake the door knob and i break in and say Ha Ha and she says buggie buggie and i say did you think it was buggy and she says YEAH! Today while we were playing fiddles, a little mouse called sadie and a mouse called ellie was squishing little cracker fishies into the carpet under the piano. I am glad she is in bed now.

Tonight we're going to AWANA. I am practicing a verse. It is Jeremiah 10:10a : "But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God." That's my verse for AWANA. Awana is fun. You get to play games, you get to sing, you get to do verses, and you get to meet new friends. It is lots of fun. My friend at Awana is names Clarrissa and she has a little sister names Caitlyn. Her mom's name is Savaya. Her dad's name is Alan. I like her because she is funny but when she sees someone new she hides behind my back. Her little sister is really very funny too.

Sevdi and the Goats

We were going to get a dog. Dad said we would get it on Friday. When Friday came we went to the airport to get the dog. As soon as we brought her home she was very excited. We put her with some goats that we got from our auntie. One is a mom that has 2 babies. The fourth one is the grandma of the kids. The goat jumped on top of the round hay bale. He did that because he had a stool there and they always jump up on the stool and it is beside the bale so he jumped up on top. It was one of the babies. I don't know how it got down. We named the dog Sevdi. Sevdi means love and passion. It's a Turkish name because the dog is Turkish. Sevdi took my sister Ellie's shoes and she was sucking on it and now it's all wet and she chewed a little of it. She likes chewing things and she is very very excited. We don't always leave her with the goats. Sometimes we let her out but someone is always with her. We lead her around with the leash all around our yard. We don't want her to go anywhere else, that's why we do that. Yesterday she found a grouse and no one could see it in the bushes but she could. She found it because she was smelling and that time we didn't have her on her leash. --carrie
