MOMS group presentation

So I still don't have a name for the school yet. To be honest, after I spent so much time researching and found all the info, I kind of put it down for a while, which could be a good thing. We are trying to enjoy the remainder of the summer...actually the temperatures here in GA have been extremely forgiving for this time of year! I am in a local MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) group, so we do stuff with them occassionally during the month. My latest project is that I will be presenting a little blurb about homeschooling to the MOMS group at our Aug. 9th meeting. I have been doing lots of research, which is actually how I found this blogging site! I am trying to keep it away from being a "soapbox" about homeschooling, by just presenting facts. I have found tons of good resource websites, and I am attending a Homeschool Expo in Atlanta the first weekend of August, so I am hoping to get lots of freebies to share. (If anyone has ever been to one of those I would love some feedback as to whether or not it is worth going, and if I can expect to have anything to share when I get back) I feel like so inadequate to be sharing at this MOMS group meeting because I have no experience, and the only knowledge I have is limited to what I have found in the few weeks I have been researching. I found a great site with facts about socialization (thanks to alyssa's favorite links) but the facts were pretty old. I feel like I am asking for a lot of help, but if anyone knows of some current research and facts I would love to have them to share with my friends! Anyway, thanks for listening, and I will be continuing in my online quest!

My husband and I have decided that homeschooling is the best option for our children and family! We are excited to get started with our almost five year old girl, and our 3 year old boy will be along for the ride this year as well! We don't know much about the "how" yet, but we will be learning together as we continue on this journey together! Feel free to read my blog entries and comment!
