MERRY CHRISTMAS!! (And a happy new year!)

Awe man!.  just wrote a post two times and it erased both times. :( Sigh...I'll just write it over again. Ok...what I was saying was. In indoor this year they don't have a U13 competitive girls league so we are playing in a U14 rec boys league. So the people we play are HUGE. I am short (4' 9") and I'm not even the shortest person on the team! Lol! I'm tied with two other girls for second shortest. :) We lost 4 - 0 but we played good. :) My next game is Saturday! Dad has a soccer game tonight. Dad is working from home today because he has been sick but he does feel better today. I'm sooo excited about Christmas. It is in 9 days!! Yay! It is soo close! These days have been flying by! I can barely keep track of them! I thought yesterday was Monday but it was Tuesday! Today is Wednesday, right?  Tomorrow at art class we are having a Christmas party! Well..sort of...we bring food and i don't know if we are going to draw. I think we are going to draw a little but but mostly talk. Lol! I like art class. We don't paint or anything, we just draw. So it is basicly drawing class. Lol! Lots of people that do art class are from our church. Also Thursday night my uncle is coming over to spend the night! I think another uncle is spending the night too but I'm not sure. THey are going to stay untill Friday afternoon. Saturday (as I have already said) I have a game but I am not sure if Graham and GreenPeppermint have games. I think they do. Sunday we will go to church and- Oh! Christmas break starts Saturday! Well...I think we might get off Friday since our uncles will be here but I'm not sure.
I am trying to learn french. This is what I have learned so far. Bonjour! Mon nom est Felicite'. (Good Morning (or hello) my name is Felicit.) Comment alez-vous? (how do you do?) Bien, Merci. (well, thank you)  Au revior! (good bye!) I have also learned Bonne nuit. (Good night) Lol, it's fun. :)
After CHristmas we are going to go on a vacation! I think we are going to go to Tennessee to find snow. Lol, it barely ever snows here but last year we got enough here to sled a tiny bit in (it was kinda' wet though) and build a little snowman. One year we went to Tennessee to find snow and it ended up not snow in Tennessee and snowing where we lived! Lol! Funny, funny, funny. I'm excited though. Well, i got to go. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Your Friend, Felicity :)

Question: Do you know any language besides english, if so, which language?
Answer: I used to know Chinese but it was really hard because each meant
four different things depending on the accent you said it. But I want to learn French. :)

P.S. Probably the next time I post will be sometime in January because I will be verrry busy! So please understand. Lol!

Christmas Parade and Indoor Soccer..MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

Hey Everybody,

Soooo sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I have been meaning to but it is soo busy around Christmas time so you undertand, right? I usually post for writing in school but there has been so much going on that I have had a lot to write in my journal so I have been doing that for my writing. A lot has been going on lately.
We set up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving! When did everybody else do theirs? Ahhh! I can't wait untill Christmas! Only two more weeks exactly!! Indoor soccer has also started! I haven't had any games yet, but I have two tomorrow at 4pm and 6pm. I had an indoor soccer practice though. I"m really excited about our games. GreenPeppermint had a game Saturday but they lost 8-5 I think. Graham also had his first indoor soccer game ever. He has never played indoor soccer but this year he wanted to play. He was realllly excited about his game! Lol! I kept running up and doing chest bumps with the other players on his team...wierd. Then after they scored their goals Graham ran up and hugged his team mate! Lol! He was funny out there. He played really good though. :) They ended up losing 7-2 though. I think Graham liked indoor though. Right now he is singing around the room about school or something. Fields is reading and GreenPeppermint is playing with Quinn. :) Dad also had an indoor soccer game Wednesday. He plays soccer on the coaches indoor soccer team in the winter. It is really fun to watch him play. He played really good. They ended up in a tie, 5-5.
Last night we went to a Christmas parade. First we went to a friends house and waited and two other family's came and then we walked to the parade. We waited for a while and then the parade started. I only got about 8 pieces of candy because there were toons of smaller kids right by and I don't really like taking all the candy. Lol! I didn't really care though. MBF, GreenPeppermint, and my toes were sooo cold. We couldn't even feel them they were so cooold. It was the coldest my toes were ever before. They were blue when I took my shoes off. The parade was neat. I think my favorite float was probably the grinch float. :) I like the grinch.  Afterwards we walked home with our freezing cold toes. Then when we got a little bit away from our friend's house we started running because our toes couldn't stand it anymore!! We finally got inside and took our shoes off and put our poor, freezing toes by the fire. Lol! Then we ate dump cake and hot chocolate. It was really good. After a while we let because we had to drive all the way home and we live about 45 minutes away. Next year I think MBF, GreenPeppermint, and I will wear warmer shoes. ;) Well, I have to go now. Bye!

Your Friend, Felicity :)

Taste the Atmosphere

Just for fun!

Taste the Atmosphere

The sky revolves around the earth as I lie on gossamer turf
Just sipping the clouds. They taste like my dreams and a sunflower gleam.
With a sparrow-splash here and there, all blended as I smile and stare.
Spectacular is everywhere.

If you would open your mouth and your eyes
To taste the indigo sky
You'd fall overboard with your daydreams on the rise.
So top-heavy because they go to your head.
Your veins will rush with sunset flush instead.
And you'd never go back to bed.

Sometimes the sky gets tangled in the branches as they dare to tease
The wind who always wins. And the stars get stuck in a leafy hug.
Some of the dust brushes off. It floats down and makes me cough.
But it tastes like burning lemon drops.

If you would open your mouth and your eyes
To taste the indigo sky
You'd fall overboard with your daydreams on the rise.
So top-heavy because they go to your head.
Your veins will rush with sunset flush instead.
And you'd never go back to bed.

When you've tasted the atmosphere everything else begins to smear into something sublime.
A glorious water slide.
Just let yourself glide.

If you would open your mouth and your eyes
To taste the indigo sky
You'd fall overboard with your daydreams on the rise.
So top-heavy because they go to your head.
Your veins will rush with sunset flush instead.
And you'd never go back to bed.

Overcome

A storm of voices breaks
with iron chill
Upon moss-serene stones of the cliffside.
Ripping out the humble grasses that once flashed in the wind's cleansing breath.
Grasping sand-treasures that are so precious to a child,
Artifacts of beauty...
And flinging them through a wall of spray, of noise...
To strange and clouded waters unpenetrated by rapture's sun.
Shouting, roaring, wounding, wrenching.
Noise pounds out its varnished fury
Pounds out the silence.
The violent mist and echos climb, full of wrath,
Up weathered cliffside and cliffside
and cliffside.
Until they reach the ears of one who kneels
On sandpaper stones, to peer below.
An eager man, with strength untapped
Flowing from ardent lips.
The echos of confusion rile his hair.
Mutterings of greater pain draw down his brow.
But indigo sky infuses his veins.
The graceful, forceful sunbeam power of Truth among lies.
The strength of loveliness among accepted fears.
He whispers.
And the rasping gray echos fade.
He speaks.
And silence pours down the cliffside and cliffside
and cliffside.
Weighing down wordless clamour, pressing, possessing, caressing.
Until the sand is clear again, for little feet to laugh in.
And yellow waves of grass will grow again, like maidens' hair.

35 days untill Christmas!!

Hey Everybody!

Here is the update...

Indoor Soccer Starts!! 4 days!!
Thanksgiving!! 7 days!!
Put Christmas Tree Up!! 9 days!!
Chrismas Eve!! 34 days!!
Christmas!! 35 days!!
New Years Eve!! 42 days!!
New Years!! 43 days!!

YAY!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!! Wooo hoo!!! I'm going to get Graham's present over Thanksgiving break (the whole week of Thanksgiving off of school)! After that I still have three presents to get! I have Fields' GreenPeppermint's, and Quinn's Christmas presents. :)  Hmmmm...for lunch I am going to have crackers and cheese! YUM! I looooove crackers and cheese! Haha! Tonight Fields' has an end-of-the-season soccer party at Brusters! Yay! It is on a Thursday and every Thursday at Bruster's they have a deal: "Bring Your Own Banana and get Half Price on Banana Split" so we do that every Thursday and GreenPeppermint and I share a banana split (they are big enought to split). Since Bruster's is RIGHT by Dollar Tree (only like 50 feet away) I hope after we eat our ice cream we can go there and buy stuff for our shoe boxes that we are going to fill up. Does anybody else do that? You know, fill up the shoe box and send it to poor people in other countries? Fields and Graham are doing one for a boy aged 5-9 and GreenPeppermint and I are doing one for a girl aged 10-14. :) It will be fun. They are due Monday (I think).
Here is the website...http://www.samaritanspurse.org/        What you do is you get a shoe box and fill it up with stuff. (ill it up with stuff depending on what age and gender you pick to give it to) The stuff has to be new stuff; not used stuff. You can either wrap the box (lid and box seperate so you can still get it open) or not. After you fill it up (I suggest the dollar store for stuff) you put 7$ in it (for shipping the box) and drop it off at a the nearest drop-off location (on the web-site you can type in your zip code and it will give you directions to the nearest one). It gives you present suggestions on the website too. Oh yeah, you have to print out a label either a boy or girl label (depending on if you are giving it to a girl or a boy) and check off either the box next to 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. That is what age you are giving it too! You can get more information on it by going to the website.
Today is a busy day because right after school we are leaving for art class and then when we get back from that we are going to leave for Fields' party. I was planning to run today but it was too busy of a day so I guess I'll run tomorrow. Last night we went to the YMCA and swam! It was fun...don't worry...it was indoors! We couldn't have stood if it was outdoors! Haha! Well, Sorry about the boring post but I don't really have anything to post about besides boring stuff. :P Well, toodleoodleoo!

Your Friend, Felicity :)

Question: Do you play an instrument? If so, which one?
Answer:  Yes, piano. :)

P.S. I am going to add one Christmas song to my playlist every day.

EDIT: Since I just posted thisthis yesterday I am going to add my tag and something I want to say as an edit. :)

GreenPeppermint and I actually ended up doing a box for a 2-4 year old boy because PeculiarTreasure said that there aren't enough boxes for the boys so I wanted to do a boy and then GreenPeppermint picked out what age. :) Here is what we put in the box...

A Bible (I doubt somebody that young can read but I'm sure somebody there can. :))
a teddy bear
a squishy ball with those things sticking out of it (the balls with gooey stuff in them)
two fun little kid toothbrushes
little kid tooth paste
crayons
coloring book
glow sticks
and Nerds (the candy)

We are also going to do another one today for a 10-14  year old boy because they get the least boxes.

I'm not dead....Or am I?

Sup peoples? I'm kinda bored... It's cold and wet and rainy outside...'Course, I kinda like it that way, just not the freezing cold part....

Dad and me went huntin' the other day, and not fifteen minutes after we got in the stand we started hearing somthin' running around to our left. We could tell it wasn't squirrels or birds, and then I heard a snort! We froze and waited, dad getting ready to hand me the muzzle-loader, and then it turned and started heading toward where we were facing. (It was behind the trees of course, so we didn't even know what it was, just that it had four legs.)

Then guess what pops out of the woods? A STINKIN' DOG! Yepper folks, we thought we had us a deer and it turned out to be a dog. Big black dog. And the dog was nice enough to pee on the tree in front of our stand, just to scare off any deer that braved it's scent. Humph.

Then about twilight, everything is still and quiet, and you can practically feel the deer moving around, and we're all relaxed......Then what do we hear? That sound that every hunter HATES to hear unless it's com'in from him............

..........BOOM!

Ah yes, it was a lovely time....lol.

As we climbed down from our stand, we heard the sound of a lucky hunter driving off on his ATV with a big ol' deer on the back.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention fencing, didn't I? We got this guy to do fencing lessons for our homeschool group, and it is so AWESOME! Mr. Michael makes even the stretches fun....It's fun to attack Danny, even if it's with an imaginary sword....I'm the only girl, as usual, but there are some boys my age, so they offer a bit of a challenge.

It's fun to hear the other kids groaning and moaning during the stretches and exercises, lol. Some of them don't even make it through, they just collapse on the ground. I think Mr. Michael does it on purpose, just to see how determined we are.

Soooo, what are y'all doing?

May the Force be With You,

GirlJedi

Do you dream of escape?

Last week I was very alive.

You just read that short sentence and raised your eyebrows at me, because you're thinking, 'Grace, you are pretty much always alive. I hope.' Well, I hope so too. ;-) But I believe that you will understand what I mean when I draw your attention to some of those times of your life when you felt so bursting with happiness that you were... more alive than ever. If you can't recall any, I pity you. Because life is made up of times like that. Moments. Days. Most recently for me, it was last week. I was tremendously blessed to be able to attend a Communicators For Christ (CFC) conference in Corpus Christi. The motto for the organization is; ‘shaping culture through authentic communication'. Generally, people equate public speaking with communicating. But although public speaking is an important part of communicating for Christ, the biggest part is simply how you interact with the people around you. And even those of you who aren’t big about the whole ‘command the platform’ can't tell me that you don't interact with people. Not even homeschoolers are that unsocialized. =D So read on a little further, as I try to relate a little of what I've learned this week.

I competed in the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) last year. And I had gone to a CFC conference before. And I was never a shy person. It's actually pretty funny to listen to all the accounts my friends give of how their mom made them go to the conference, or whatever. Because my parents didn't tell me I had to go. I told my parents they had to send me. =D Anyway, nothing I learned at this conference was new to me. Anyone could have asked me about it, and I would have agreed. But not until last week were these truths really cemented in my heart. The theme for this year's tour conference is 'Lead the Escape'. It’s not talking about escaping from your problems or from the world- on the contrary. This is an escape from artificial to authentic communication. And an escape from Self. The goal is to throw aside everything that would hinder you from sharing the Truth of the gospel, and equip yourself to go into the world in order to change it. And isn't that all our lives are about?

I'd like to briefly share four things with you that specifically stuck out to me while I was at the conference. I've put them into a handy little bullet list for you. (I love those things!)

I can't tell you everything that I learned at this conference. But I felt that those four points were very important, and I hope you think so as well. I'd like to remind us of one thing, though. And that is, we can't do it. Yes, I know I just took several precious minutes of your time explaining to you what I've learned and how to do it. But all of that knowledge is useless. We can't do it. The only one who can is Christ. And He has chosen to use US! It's so, so important to remember that Christ is the only one who can light a fire under our rhetoric. He is our answer. One morning of the conference we were beginning the day with prayer, and my friend praying said this- "Let us realize that there's no possible way to communicate FOR Christ, unless we communicate WITH Him." I feel that every day. Let us always realize that we are nothing without Christ in us. He must lead us before we can Lead the Escape.

In final (I promise, this is the final) conclusion, I wrote a poem:

Dream of an Escape

If this was all a dream,
Spun from silver moon reflections on the water,
And fanned by firefly wings.
Or tossed from wave to wave, in tempests worthy...

Then when I wake up, I will laugh with the sky,
And everything will be more real, and more right.
I'll grasp for the pillow and sing for pure joy,
Because this dream has changed my life.

Sometimes our dreams are more real than our lives,
When we are not willing to live them for Christ.
And sometimes our dreams are our way of escape
When we are too frightened to risk for His sake.

But sometimes life seems like a dream
And everything exudes a golden gleam.
And I know that it's real, more real than I am.
Though it's bound to my heart with a velvet band.

And I realize that, escaping this way,
I'm delving in, not fleeing away.
The care isn't that I should save myself,
But help to lead the escape from Self.

For Christians may all sit and babble away,
And be very smart and have things to say,
But what have we done for the kingdom of Christ
Unless we go into the world and speak Life?

There is no higher calling, and no greater care
Than to reach out to others and simply be there.
If we can love in a world full of hate,

We
are called to Lead the Escape.
