Hey! That was my ice cream!

Hi again. Good news! Yesterday I had a volleyball game 2 hours away, and we won! It was so great. I rode with 3 of my friends and, let me tell you, it was an insane ride. Halo 3, ice cream, coffee, laughter, pictures, movies, baby screaming, volleyball socks. Yipers. :) We won in two games, 12-25 or so, then we watched the varsity play. After that we all went out to dinner at Applebee's.  (That was also insane.) On the way home: baby crying, NBA video games, singing, sleeping, screaming, milkshakes.  We arrived back home about 11:30. :)

I slept till 10 this morning. Ahhhhh....it felt really good!

MOVIE REVIEW:

Adam's Rib: starring Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn, another one of film's greatest duos. They star as 2 married lawyers who one day see a story in the paper about a wife's murder attempt on her adultering husband. They each take different sides, the wife arguing for the woman and the husband for the man. Unfortunately for him, as soon as he gets to the office he realizes that he must do exactly that: fight for the husband in a real court of law. When the wife finds this out, she immediately takes the wife's case. This is one of their best, in my opinion. They play so well together because of their real-life romance that went on behind the scenes. I would definitely get this one!

Lord love a duck!

Hi again everybody. I know it's been a long time, sorry, but I've been uber busy. Volleyball started the 11th, and school is rolling along again as well. Ahhhh.....the school year is on again. Eeep. My algebra book is being idiotic-teaching me addition and subtraction in the beginning of the book. But like my physical science book.

Volleyball. It's so crazy. 12 girls on the team. 4 days a week. Driving two hours to games. Laughing. Screaming. Diving. Serving. It's terrible and fabulous at the same time. It's a crazy, adrenaline-pumping, addictive thing that an otherwise sports-opposed artsy person could be on a volleyball team, sweating like crazy, playing volleyball 4 days a week. Yipes!

I also have started a class called Three R's (Reading, Writing and Rhetoric.) I love it so much! It's a lot of writing, and we had to read 'Treasure Island,' but it's still great fun.

I have a movie review for ya'll!

Dark Passage: starring Humphery Bogart and Lauren Bacall, one of the greatest duos in film history. Bogart plays a criminal who has escaped from prison in order to find his wife's real murderer-he was framed for the crime. He meets Irene (Bacall) who knows that he's innocent and helps him get past the police. This is a really really good movie-you have to watch it. The beginning is sort of unconventional; everything is seen through the eyes of Bogart's character. You should watch it!

Take another lap! Nooooo! Faster! Run! Run!

Hi.....today was the first volleyball practice of the season. I'm so exhausted. There was so much running....and the heat......but oh well. It was pretty fun anyway. Unfortunately we have our first game of the season, a scrimmage against one of the biggest high schools in town, on Thursday, leaving us two days to prep. Please believe me when I say: Yikes!

Well, not much more to write.  Mesa Jar Jar Binks! Mesa exhausted-a!

Summer shlorpes to an end with a bang and a slap on the back. School starts at some undefined time; possibly towards the first of September. I already have my algebra book (uggggh) and my science book (yesss!) so that good. Right now I'm slumped in front of the computer, listening to 'Things We Said Today' by The Beatles and moving as little as possible. Yikes!

Doom and destruction!

Hi again, everyone. It's Saturday, thank goodness. This week has been a scorcher, with every day getting up to the 90's, except for yesterday, which was nice. Last night I went to youth group-it was so much fun! We had a talent night, which was amazing. Two of my friends played guitar, somebody touched his tongue to his nose, another did a Rubik's cube in 1.5 minutes. I, personally, played the Star Wars theme song on the recorder. (Yeah, baby!)

Doom and destruction! Volleyball starts Monday! Not that I don't love it, but 8 hours of practice next week is a very daunting task to face. Summer went by much, much too fast.

Today we decided to go through old clothes and give away stuff. It took quite a while, because I have to try stuff, on, and if it doesn't fit me, my sister has to try it on, and if she doesn't want it we give it away. It's a long process.

MOVIE REVIEWS:

The Big Sleep: Starring Humphery Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Bogart plays a P.I. who is hired by a retired general to track down someone who is blackmailing him. As he goes about it, he meets Carmen, the general's frivolous younger daughter, and Mrs. Rutledge, the general's divorced older daughter (Bacall.) This movie is very complicated but thrilling-Humphery Bogart and Lauren Bacall are fantastic together. This film is also the perfect example of a genre gone by-film noir, with the stunningly beautiful women, the hard-hitting detectives, and that aura of suspense that doesn't show up much today. You really have to see this one.

Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back: This is my favorite Star Wars movie ever. Though darker than the previous one, I find the plot is enveloping and wonderful. I love how we follow Luke to depressing, swampy Degobah where he meets Yoda (cutest little creature in the galaxy) and learns to be a Jedi-and then switch back with lightening speed to Han, Leia and the droids as they escape the Imperial forces and meet up with Lando in City in the Clouds. The scene in the carbon chamber makes me cry every time. Auug! I love this movie! You must watch 4 first, though.

Well, au revoir. Drop me a comment!

This title is spelled incorrectly...

Hi again everybody. It's so, so hot. Uggh. 90 degrees, that's how hot. Thank goodness I went ahead and did my workout early, or I might have died of heatstroke.

Saturday I went to an archery class. It was unfortunately not at all like I thought it would be-I had imagined a bow like Susan's in Narnia or Legolas's in LoTR but it was a crossbow (one where you actually pull a trigger) and the other bow had pulleys and we were shooting at a fake deer. (The target for the crossbow was a big block with circles on it-it had to be a very sturdy thing, cause the crossbow was a lot more powerful than the regular bow.)  A little disturbing? You bet! I know that some of you are very hunting oriented but I'm not and I was a little hesitant. I don't like hunting for sport, and this was almost like teaching us how to do that. It was a homeschool class, though, so I knew a few of the people there (one of the guys was at the dances last fall.) Oh well. It was an experience. (The crossbow did give you a great feeling of power, though.)

MOVIE REVIEW:

Carousel: This movie, a musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein, is one of the creepiest ever, in my opinion. Julie is an unassuming girl who goes to a carousel and meets Billy Bigelow, a lowdown carny worker. They end up running off together and getting married, but their marriage is destined for failure, as Julie is an idiot and Billy is abusive. Some of the songs are good, though, such as June Is Bustin' Out All Over, You'll Never Walk Alone and If I Loved You. Unfortunately, the plot is warped (Julie belives that even if Billy beats her she still loves him cause 'he's her man.') I would watch it, but it's reccomended with reservations cause it's a bit creepy.

Well, drop me a comment! Put on suntan lotion! Don't wanna getta sunbuhn!

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum....

Hi again. It's Friday (hooray!) Yesterday I did my workout (ugggh!) and then went to my friend's house (yaaay!) We baked cookies and talked a lot. I am so tired today.  I'm not doing my workout today....even though I missed Monday and Tuesday. It was so hot on those days-I would have died of heat stroke! Honestly!

Well, I have two movie reviews for you today.

Movie reviews:

The Harvey Girls: This was a really wierd one. Starring Judy Garland, Ray Bolger and Angela Lansbury, this one sounds like it would be good. It's about this train (The Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe) which is carrying all of these waitresses who are going to open up a new Harvey restaurant in New Mexico. On this train is this young girl (Judy Garland) who is going out west to marry a man she has only ever written to. Unfortunately, in the town, the owner of a shady saloon called the Alhambra (and the judge) are plotting ways to get rid of the Harvey girls, because he's afraid they will make the town honest and clean and put his nasty saloon out of business.  Once they get there, there's a huge musical number, and the young girl realizes that the man she thought she was writing to didn't write the letters at all-he hired the owner of that shady saloon to do it. Anyway. The storyline continues in this sense, but the musical numbers are thrown in at odd points and the 'It's a Great Big World' number is reminiscent of a middle school drama production. Ray Bolger (who you would think would get a lead role) plays this freaky blacksmith who dances. More oddly still, Cyd Charisse, the world famous ballet dancer, is thrown in. She hardly gets to dance, and plays a character that is totally opposite her personality.  But I would still say that this-if you truly like musicals-is worth watching.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope: I'm so glad I got to watch this, after that wierd musical. I love Star Wars. This os one of my favorites, all though my favorite of all time is The Empire Strikes Back. Here's the general plot line-Princess Leia has been captured. Luke Skywalker (young farmboy) goes with Obi Wan Kenobi to Mos Eisley where they meet Han Solo and Chewbacca, a  pilot and his first mate who agree to take them to Alderran-where they think the princess is. You really have to watch this movie! (I love Han Solo!) (I always thought that is isn't totally necessary to watch 1, 2 and 3 first, but you can if you want. This is the 1st in the old trilogy.)

Coming soon: Carousel! (The creepiest movie ever!)

PLEASE drop me a comment!

Well, I'm robbing the bank! No, I am!

Hi again everybody. It's Wednesday, the hump day of the week, and the day I go to volleyball. It was so hot there today-the sweat was running down my neck. We did get to scrimmage, though. That was fun.

Anyway. You may be wondering about the subject line. Well, today me and my sister were playing Life, you know, that game where you......have a fake life......get a job......have children....basically like life......but you knew that. Anyway. We were bored with the rules so by the end I said, "Well, for my turn, I'm robbing the bank!" "No, I want to rob the bank," she said, ripping the money from my hand. It went downhill from there, with each of us ending up in the millions and having more children and naming them all after characters in Harry Potter. It was so cool.

Monday was my grandpa's 84th birthday, and we had meatloaf, potatoes and (drumroll please) a cake that me and my sister made! Here's a pic:

(I hope it works.) My grandpa loves cowboys, and so we took a picture of him, cut out the head and put it in a cowboy body (which I drew myself.) As one of my best friends would say, Swweeeeet!

I have some movie reviews, but they'll have to wait, cause it's time for dinner!

There were little mice everywhere! Sweeping the floors, spinning me a dress, and even singing!

Hi again, everyone. It's very very hot, as per usual. But, what else would I expect, it being the 19th of July? Deep into summer, we are, and we are also edging closer and closer to-dare I say it-school. And for me, volleyball season! Ahhhhhhh! I HAVE to read Treasure Island before class starts! Eeeep!

Yesterday I went to youth group. It was so much fun! I love youth group, and it was nice to see our youth pastor again before he leaves to start a new church in the fall.

Ha ha! I switched the glasses while you weren't looking!

Hi again everybody. My life has been pretty good lately! Except for the heat, it's enormously ruthless and oppressive. The humidity has been almost 100 percent a lot in the last few days. Unfortunately, I am bound by my word to do my volleyball workout 3 times a week, even if it's blazing hot out. That's why I tend to do it in the morning, not the afternoon. (You know, running in the snow might be easier. Volleyball season should be in the winter.)

I have TRUCKLOADS of movie reviews. Honestly. While my sister was at camp we just sucked them down. By the way, she had a very good time at camp, and was glad she went, even though bad boys kept stealing her camera.

MOVIE REVIEWS:

Sorrowful Jones: Starring Bob Hope and Lucille Ball. Everybody knows that this is the same Lucille Ball as in I Love Lucy, right? Good. This is actually before the show started, but only by a few years. Bob Hope plays Sorrowful Jones, an illegal bookie in New York City. When a 5-year-old girl is left with him as a marker for a bet that a horse will win, he has to drag her along with him until her father can pay up. Unfortunately, her father, who accidentally finds out that the race is rigged, gets killed, and Jones is stuck with the little girl. This is a very good movie, once you get into it, although the beginning is a bit confusing, but it's so good in the end, and a bit surprising. (I'm talking about the scene where they pray-watch it and you'll see what I mean.) This is a good one.

The Paleface: Starring Bob Hope and Jane Russell. Russell plays Calamity Jane, who is hired by the government to track down men who are smuggling guns to the indian tribes. She is to ride on a wagon train, with a government man posing as her husband. Then that guy, the one who's playing her husband, gets shot, and she realizes that there are men on her trail, sent from the smugglers, trying to kill her. She stumbles upon Painless Peter Potter, a dentist in the town, who she uses by marrying him and startieng out on the wagon train. I really like this one because, even though she's using him, she starts to love him as they travel together. And Bob Hope is so funny as the dentist! They made a sequel to this one, called Son of Paleface, which I like just a little better (cause it has Roy Rodgers in it!) You should see this one first though.

The Princess Bride: I told you I had a bunch, didn't I? I did! Well. I love the Princess Bride. It's just hilarious. Although I did know somebody who didn't like it once. I don't know why.  Buttercup is a farmgirl who falls in love with the farmhand, a handsome boy named Wesley. He goes to sea, though, and then she recieves word that he is killed. I really can't tell you much more about it, or I'd spoil the story for you.  This has got to be one of my favorite movies ever!

Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King: Oh my word. I love LoTR. No movie markes me almost cry so much. It's so heartbreaking, at times. You must watch all three. There's almost no point in summarizing. I can't do it justice. This isn't the first time I've watched it, though, but I understand it so much better now. My dad doesn't like battles, so he doesn't watch this kind of movie that much, but this story is amazing. You have to see it.

Well. OK. Hope you find those helpful.

I thought that said 'Thesaurus Island!'

Hi again, everybody, and to the newcomers, welcome to wonderland.Today is Wednesday, which means volleyball (yessss!) Unfortunately/fortunately, I got my volleyball workout yesterday! It's basically a series of excersizes that my coaches gave out to the team so we don't become flabby and weak over the summer. Man, it's rough. I hate suicides! (For those who know what suicides are, you know what I mean.) Suicides are basically thus: Mark out 50 meters. Run 15 meters, then back to start. Run 25 meters, back to start. Run 40, back to start, then run the entire 50 meters and back to start. Do this 5 times.

Well, that got old reeeally fast. Especially cause it was so humid outside. At least I did it.

To explain the title: My dad saw the back of my hand, on which I had written 'Treasure Island'  in large, blue letters, in order to remind myself to start reading it before classes start (Must read! Must read!) and he thought it said 'Thesaurus Island.' "That's where people just walk around, yelling out words," I wittily remarked.

MOVIE REVIEW:

Harry Potter and the Order of The Pheonix: I promised it, and here it is! This 5th installment in the Harry Potter series is, I think, the best one. It's my favorite. I saw it in the theater last year about this time (in exchange for reading my required school book, Tom Sawyer.) I love how the characters mature throughout the series. In this one, Harry is 15 and is going back to school. Unfortunately, he is attacked by dementors back in Little Whinging, where his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon Dursley live. Hew gets a letter saying that he's expelled from Hogwarts, but then a group of (very very cool) wizards show up to rescue him. This is one of my favorite movies and I hope you like it. Watch 1-4 first though-it will clear things up a bit.

Drop me a comment! Have a nice day!

Hi again, everybody. How's summer going? It's really hot here. Unfortunately, our house doesn't have air conditioning, as do a lot of yours, I'm sure. Uggh. Fortunately, I got to go to my grandparent's house today. Even though I had to vaccuum, I got to see them, and be in air conditioning for a while.

My sister is now at camp. I hope she's having a good time. We can write to her, so we're sending some stuff.

It's not the Fourth of July!

Hi again, ya'll. I meant to write yesterday but never got to it, what with visiting grandparents and all.  We went to see fireworks last night downtown, and that was amazing. I love fireworks. I love how loud they are.

Well, anyway, my sister leaves for camp tomorrow so she'll be packing today. I'm glad I'm not leaving again, besides the fact that, yes, we are NOT going to the beach this summer. *sob* But I'm really glad tomorrow is Sunday. I can't wait to see my friends and just praise God again.

Movie review:

Desk Set: starring Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. Katherine Hepburn plays Bunny, a research librarian for a television company. She's extremely good at her job, as her memory is fantastic. She's engaged (for 7 years) to a television exec, but their relationship is fizzling. Enter Spencer Tracy as Sumner, an engineer who is secretly planning (with the president of the company) to replace the girls in research with a huge 'electronic brain'-the computer of the time. Since this movie was made in 1957, this computer is gigantic. It almost takes up the whole room. But Bunny and he co-workers come up with ways to fight it. In the beginning, Bunny and Sumner are suspicious of each other, but (of course) they fall in love in the end. This is a very cool movie and quite funny, especially the Christmas scene. You should definitely see it!

I'm finally back...........

Hi everybody. I'm so sorry I haven't written in ages. I just got back from vocal music camp! It was fun...and guess what? I met another homeschooler! Last year when I went, I was almost an exhibit because I was the only homeschooler in a group of maybe 35-40 people. (You can imagine, I felt a bit lonely.) But this year I met a nice girl who was homeschooled too! So that was a plus. But anyway. I had a very good time. On the way, (this camp is in New Jersey) we stopped in Virginia to see the American Shakespeare Center do Twelfth Night and King Lear. OH MY GOODNESS, it was so amazing. I actually have seen Twelfth Night done before, but never, ever like this. The timing was perfect. Then King Lear.............I had never seen it performed before. The story is so heartbreaking! There are only three characters left alive in the end! The whole room was silent, and people were crying. It was beautiful and terrible at the same time, and the acting was stupendous.

I forgot to tell you! I actually got an mp3 player! I had been saving all my money since before my birthday for one and I finally got one for the trip. I was sooooo happy! Some of my songs are The Beatles, Hello Dolly, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, and other stuff. Yay!

Anyway. Phew. No movies lately, sorry, but there will be some soon!

With a hey, ho, the wind and the rain............

Hi everybody. I am so mad at my computer. I wrote this entry twice and lost it both times. Stupid thing! Why won't you work?

Anyway. Guess what? I have a real job now! I'm working for my dad, filing his music. He's paying me minimum wage! I'm so excited!

Has anybody ever seen or read Shakespeare's Twelfth Night? It's the coolest-

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sorry. My sister just scared me by sticking her head in front of the computer screen, singing a stupid car commercial jingle.

As I was saying. Twelfth Night is an amazing play, full of mistaken identities, people playing tricks, people falling in and out of love, girls dressing as guys to hide their identities, etc. You really should read it before you see it, though; it will make things clearer.

I don't like those.....these are cute! Ahhhh! They're 178.00! Run away!

Hello, kind and gentle readers. Today is Saturday in my part of the world. Today I....well, let me first fill you in on some details. I'm going to camp in a week, and I had to get a dress and shorts. Unfortunately we had to go to the mall for this. Eeek. I really hate shopping, and it took forever. I am not petite, so I can't fit in skinny, low cut jeans and tiny skin-tight shirts (like I'd want to!) That's basically why I don't like shopping. (Unless it's book shopping!) So, that took all day. But I did eventually find a dress and shorts (at Kohls. Isn't that ironic? We had to leave the mall in order to find what we really needed.)

Movie reviews:

Brigadoon : Odd title, but this is really good movie. Starring Gene Kelly, Van Johnson and Cyd Charisse.  Tommy (Gene Kelly) and Jeff (Van Johnson) are two men who are hunting in Scotland when they suddenly see this town that's not on the map. They go down and find out that the town is called Brigadoon, and meet Fiona (Cyd Charisse). As they go through the town, they see that everybody is wearing clothes from centuries earlier, and they all speak of a 'miracle.' Tommy eventually falls in love with Fiona, and of course they dance a lot.  This is a very good musical, and you really believe the characters, especially between Tommy and Fiona.

Easter Parade: This movie stars Judy Garland, Fred Astaire and Ann Miller. Tony Hewes (Astaire) is a professional dancer who has had a row with his partner. (Ann Miller) He makes a bet with his friend that he can pick any girl from a chorus line and teach her to dance as well as his ex-partner. The music is totally by Irving Berlin, so that's really amazing. This is a really good musical!

Well, see you later. Drop me a comment!

Happy people talking happy talk.................

Hi again! Guess what? My dad got his new computer! Now I can post again! It's pretty spiffy and so now I can get online. Yesss!

More good news: My coach called last night and I made the Junior Varsity volleyball team! YAY! I was very very happy. The season starts the last week or so of August and on October 18th we're going to the tournament! EEEEEEP! I also found out a bunch of my friends made it too.

We went to the pool the other day; long story short, it was fun, but silly little me didn't put enough sunscreen on her shoulders and got a nasty sunburn. Uggh! At least we could put that wierd-smelling aloe gel on my shoulders; that felt good. But stupid me! I won't do that again! (I probably will; but live and learn, as I always say!)

Movie reviews!

South Pacific: Music and lyrics by Rodgers and Hamerstein. This musical is set in the South Pacific islands during the beginning of WWII. Nellie (Mitzi Gaynor) is a nurse who works on the islands, and there she meets a French plantation owner named Emil. They fall in love. but though they plan to be married, the officials ask her to spy on Emil and find out his background, in order for them to ask him to go on a mission. She tries, but can't do it. They're very happy but then Nellie breaks it off when she meets his two children, from his first marriage to a Polynesian woman who died years before.  Meanwhile, an American officer named Joe Cable is new to the lislands, and he hears about a mystical forbidden island called Bali'hai. Breaking the rules, he goes there and meets a young girl named Liat. (She only speaks French, but fortunately, he speaks it too.) They fall in love too, but Joe decides he can't marry her. Joe finally persuades Emil to go on the secret and dangerous mission, while Nellie finally realises that she can't live without Emil. This movie is about racial prejudice of the time, and it captures the spirit of the soldiers well, although I really can't imagine them bursting into song all that often.  The music is amazing-there is a huge amount of songs in the movie, one every other scene or every scene. I would recommend this movie because it is a classic musical and very good.

The Incredibles: I have always liked this movie. I assume a bunch of ya'll have seen in but I'll do it anyway. Mr. Incredible is a super hero who has been forced to go into hiding by the government. His wife, the flexible Elastigirl, is in hiding with him. Their three children, Violet, Dash and Jack Jack, have their own super powers. Their life is pretty mundane until Mr. Incredible recieves a message from a secret agent who needs his help. This movie is actually really funny and I like it a lot better than a lot of Disney-Pixarish movies coming out recently.

Well, drop me a comment!

Egad!

Hi everybody! I don't have mucho time but I have to explain. You see, my dad had to turn in his computer to his school and now I can't get online at all without going to the library. Boo hoo! That's where I am right now.

IT IS SO HOT TODAY. It's supposed to reach 90 today. Ugggh! Egad!

Yesterday my mom made a deal with me and my sister: If we cleaned up 5 old bikes we had on the back porch, we could put them up for sale and if they sold we could split the money! Yay! One already sold and so now I'm getting closer to an Ipod, which I really want.

MOVIE REVIEW:

Mr. Deeds Goes To Town : This Frank Capra film won the Academy Award for Best Director that year. It is really amazing.  Starring Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur, this story is about Longfellow Deeds, a small town poet who comes into a 20 million dollar inheritance and decides to give it all away. Gary Cooper has that young handsome charm in this movie; Jean Arthur is a convincing hard news reporter.  I really would get it: it's very funny and very famous too.

Coming up: South Pacific, Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers, and Psycho! (I know that you've all seen LOTR but still........I like to be complete.)

Drop me a sizzling summer comment. (What does THAT mean? What am I thinking? Uggh!)

The snake eats the gopher!

Hello, everybody! How are you? I'm pretty good, tired though. I had three days of volleyball in a row this week, and although I LOVE VOLLEYBALL, I was really tired by Thursday night. Then Friday night was the monthly contra dance. It was so much fun, except not many guys there to dance with. Two of my good friends were there though so that was cool. SCHOOL is OVER! Yay! Well, almost over, except a piano party on the 8th. I can't wait for that. I'm playing the Mozart and afew other short things. As far as making the volleyball team goes, I don't know yet, my coach is calling everybody this week. I hope I make it!

I have two good movie reviews for ya!

MOVIE REVIEWS:

Pat and Mike: Starring Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, this is an odd movie. But very cool. Katherine Hepburn plays a gym teacher who gets fed up with people treating her like a novice, so she enters the women's national golf tournament. During the tournament, she meets two men (one of whom is Spencer Tracy) who want to bribe her into losing with a huge cash reward in return.  She refuses, and subsequently loses. The men come up to her afterward, tell her they are sports agents, and tell her to look them up someday. Well, she does, and who knew Katherine Hepburn could play tennis? (Good movie!)

Notorious: We watched this last night. Oh, my goodness, it was so so so good. Starring Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant, this Alfred Hitchcock movie is set in 1946, during the time of Nazi espionage. Ingrid Bergman plays a German-born woman whose father was recently tried and convicted of being a traitor to the United States. She then meets Devlin (Cary Grant) who tells her that she is the perfect type to do a job for the FBI set in Rio. She agrees and flies to Rio with Devlin to start her job, consequently falling in love with him. This is one of Cary Grant's most famous movies and he and Bergman both are fabulous.

Well, drop me a comment!

Don't get worse! Grab your hearse-I mean, nurse, and come to Holiday Inn!

Heeyyaaah! Howdy! (That was my funky cowboy greeting for ya'll.) Sorry I haven't written. I've been reasonably busy with tryouts and concerts and stuff. Today is Memorial Day, so not only do we honour those who fought for this country through the years, we get a day off from school. My grandpas (both of them) fought in WWI and II. But anyway, to make a long story short, today we have old friends from out of town coming for lunch. Yay!

Did I tell you I didn't place in the contest? I was really disappointed. But I'm over it now. I got pretty good comments, though, and a pink ribbon. I do know that I didn't play my best, but it's OK.

Tryouts are going OK. I have one more night to go! Yay!

DAVID COOK WON! DAVID COOK WON! DAVID COOK WON! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

MOVIE REVIEWS:

Holiday Inn: This musical is totally Irving Berlin. I love love Irving Berlin's music (White Christmas, Easter Parade) and this movie stars two of my favorite singer-dancers, Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. Parts of this are really wierd but I still like it. The music is great!

Murder on The Orient Express: This is a fabulous movie. Based on an Agatha Christie novel of the same name, this cast includes Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Richard Widmark, Anthony Hopkins and Albert Finney. It was nominated for 6 Academy Awards! You really really really have NO idea who did it until the end. An odd group of people are stuck together on a train when there is a murder aboard. Detective Hercule Peroit solves the murder-it is so cool!

Well, drop me a comment!

And then there were two...........

Hey again everybody, friends and enemies, ladies and gentlemen. It's Sunday, but not the sort of Sunday you might suppose. I played a version of 'Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing' at my grandparent's church this morning. It was their choir director's last day there and a lot of people cried. It wasn't a particularly had piece but oh well. Then I ate bad meatloaf and banana pudding at the lunch afterwards. Booyah!

GUESS WHAT? I went to 'Prince Caspian!' Aaaahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! It was so so so good. I went on Saturday, the day it came out, and oh, my, goodness. It was fabulous. I just read the book, you know, in Earthling's Prince Caspian Book Club, and so I knew the story well.  You just have to go see it! If anybody has, write me a comment and tell me about it!

You might be wondering about the subject line. Well, I'm talking about American Idol. Just the two Davids! Ahhhhhhhh! Wednesday's the finale! Aahhhhhhhhh! I'm so glad David Cook didn't get off! And now the ever-present question returns!

WHO! WILL! WIN! AMERICAN! IDOL?

Stay tuned, guys.................................

Oh! I forgot to tell you! YESTERDAY WAS THE CONTEST!  I think I did OK. I'm not sure yet. But one thing I noticed was the I didn't have the feeling of relief at getting rid of the song; I really love the Mozart. Tonight they give out the rankings, I hope I do well! Eeeeeyah!
