Pea Water
So last night we're having dinner and I put the dreaded peas on my children's plates. My daughter of course just started gobbling up her dinner with delight (love it!!). The boys on the other hand just stared at them and refused to touch them.
I told them that if they would eat 3 peas they could get dessert. My middle son wanted to know why they were round and what was inside them. I told him that they have peas inside. He still wasn't convinced. I asked him, "Well grapes are round, what do they have inside?" He responded with water. I said that's right grapes have grape water and peas have .............pea water!!!!
At this comment my husband just rolled off the table laughing so hard. I couldn't believe what I said. I started laughing myself really hard.
I guess I didn't convince the children to eat their peas! |

BWWAAA that was funny.
peas have plant protein to make you strong, and starch to give you energy and chlorophyll to make your breath not stink. In the spring, can you plant peas in the garden and have the kids watch them grow.. then maybe they'll want to eat them. You could grow peas where you eat the whole pod - that's fun.. or.. did you know that wrinkly peas is a genetic trait, as is round smooth peas. If your kids don't like the wrinkles on the peas, try a different brand, maybe they use the kind that have round smooth skin and no wrinkles. And any vegetable which is over cooked is gross.. remember to only gently heat them so they're bright green instead of dull grey green and soggy.. It's like broccoli that's over cooked.. GROSS - but bright green broccoli is awesome!
Ya.. I'll shut up now.. lol
