Our middle son is four and just ITCHING to start school. After looking and searching and planning and praying I have decided to do my own version of Preschool. I really LOVE Brightly Beaming and think what they have planned there is fantastic, but I need more for my inquisitive little guy.
So I am blending several things together and we start NEXT WEEK! Yes in the middle of MAY, that is the BEAUTY of homeschooling!
I will post my resources here so if you want to follow along just check back!
Here is what we have so far for Preschool

Teaching the Concepts
Bible Memory Verses
I use the books:
ABC Memory Verses: Games, Tips, and Activities for Hiding God's Word in Little Hearts: Grades K-3 [With 300 Stickers and Reproducible Progress Chart] by Carol Layton
Praise and Worship by Angela and Ken Abraham
20 Bible Verses Every Child Should Know (Heritage Builders) (with audio CD) by Christine Tripp
Weekly Themes
I have selected the weekly themes based on the availablity of corresponding material, age appropriateness, and my child's own intrests. You may choose any number of other themes.
My Learning Book
My older children attended public school and while in Kindergarten my oldest son made a learning book. I still have it and plan to make one with each of my younger boys. It is essentially a smaller version of the Learning Poster suggested by Katrina Lybbert at Letter of the Week. Each page is laminated and then taken to an office supply store for binding.
Since I am learning to do scrapbooking I am looking forward to this part of Preschool the MOST! I own the Provo Craft Cricut Expression Machine and I can't wait to start using it to make Paper Dolls and other Preschool cut outs!
Vocabulary Words
Each week I add a vocabulary word that corresponds to the weekly theme.
Shapes & Colors
Each week you will explore shapes and Colors with your child. Sometimes, as in the case with Apples, the shape is your theme.
Letters & Numbers
I use the plans and printables from First-School and follow the lesson plan they provide for Letters and Numbers.
