A great poem

Here is another great poem I came across in my devotional a couple of days ago.

One ship drives east and another drives west,
with the selfsame winds that blow.
'Tis the set of the sails and not the gales,
that decides the way to go.
Like the winds of the sea are the ways of fate,
as we voyage along through life;
'Tis the set of the soul that decides it's goal,
and not the calm or the strife.

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Also, since November is the month of Thanksgiving; I have been making a specific list of God's blessing to be thankful for.  So far I've got 30 things on my list.  Couldn't we just go on and on?

Cascade,
Thanks for the wonderful comment on my blog. I'm sorry I didn't comment on yours before I added you to my friends list. I just recently joined homeschoolblogger, and I have been doing the random blog search thing. I was just bookmarking those that I enjoyed reading by adding them to my friends list.
Ok, so I don't yet get the poem you just posted with the webdings. I guess I will have to look at it more closely, maybe a little later in the day when I'm not still so sleepy. :)
Take care & enjoy your day!

Nov. 14, 2006 - Poem

Hello again :) Yea, to me your poem looks like it should be words but there aren't any. There are groups of little pictures/symbols with spaces in between, and the groups appear to be in stanzas too. I don't know if it is just my computer, if maybe it doesn't read a certain font, since you have words on your end. You would have to see if anyone else sees only symbols. None of your other posts appear that way.
I just thought it was some type of a code meant to be decifered and I was still to sleepy this morning to figure it out. :)

Amy,

Copy & Paste the entire entry into Word, then highlight the whole thing and change it to a readable font. It is, indeed, in Webdings on the blog.

It's a great poem, by the way. I'll copy it here in case you don't have Word.

Dec. 1, 2006 - cooking school

I'm a new blogger still getting familiar with this internet world. I found your blog by clicking on common interests.
For years I have looked at the Reiman publications magazines. What an exciting adventure to attend one of the cooking school classes. Have you made any of the items you saw demonstrated? I look forward to reading more about your experience. Jo
