Our church is having an adoption conference in a couple months and we are part of the planning team. Today in the mail I received information from Orphans Overseas which is based in Oregon. They are a non-profit Christian agency that currently offers adoption programs for China and Vietnam. The agency comes highly reccomended by a family in our church who used them 5 years ago to adopt two children. I was looking through the information packet and was shocked by how much lower the total expenses are when using this agency! The total expense for China is approx. $11,885 - $15,345 depending on if you live in or out of state and if one parent or two travel overseas. That price is sooooooo much less than other agencies!

Ways to finance adoption - $10,000 tax credit on your federal taxes - tax credit on your state taxes-adoption benefits from your employer - a $2,000 per child subsidy for those in the military - have a fundraiser - borrow from your 401K - a low or no interest loan.
