The kids are doing well with their schooling. Daphne has started reading!! Jake finished his Map Skills book and Ryan will finish his book next week. They will both be done with their Health books by the end of April. We are on track for all other subjects to be completed the first week of June. There were definately days that I wished for the yellow bus, but we worked through that. I'm once again planning on tweaking some of our curriculum. We have been doing science and history together, and although we have enjoyed it, we are going to try it individually this next year. It's hard to think another year has almost gone by! We are looking forward to enjoying our beach house rental with our friends this summer. Zac mailed the final payment check for the rental today so it makes it seem like more of a reality!
Zac is enjoying his job although it is about to get much tougher since he has several co-workers who are in the Army reserves and they have received orders that are being deployed to Iraq..again! It is an 18 month tour. He and another staff will be left with the extra case loads.
Church....well that has been an issue since we relocated back this direction last April. For the first few months we commuted the hour, but then winter was coming and we wanted to try to find something local. We thought we had tried out all the churches before when we lived here, but we found out about one we had not tried through a family from co-op. We decided to go try it out. It is an Independent Baptist church. The pastor teaches the Bible which is of utmost importance. The people were friendly and we were invited over to a few homes for meals. I hope to have them all over at some point... but we have felt unsettled even though we have tried to make it work. Meanwhile the other church merged with a church plant and in the process got a new pastor and we were asked to help out with the merge so we have been doing the drive again the past few weeks. After much discussion we have decided to return. We are currently doing the 1 hr drive but we are looking for a place closer but not as far from Zac's work as we were previously. The house hunt continues..
What else.. Oh we think our Boston Terrier is allergic to corn or at least has some type of sensitivity to it. We are in the process of switching him to a grain free dogfood. We have also decided to go the natural route with flea/tick control for this upcoming summer.
That's about it for now, I'll try to post some pictures soon.
