Welcome!
...To my humble abode. This is my graphics journal, where I post what I've made, brushes, tutorials, and whatnot. I do hope you will enjoy searching my site as much as I do. Use the "My Latest Graphics Post" link on the left of the screen you'll see what I've been up to. See ya there!
During the spring of 2006 I was a penpal to a girl some of you might now, she told me about a blog she had, I looked it up and days later had a blog of my own. From HSB I learned of another great site, NarniaWeb.com. Once a member of NarniaWeb I acquired a art program. This was in June.
I was always quite a pennypincher and could never bare to spend more then a little, if I was going to get a graphics program it was going to be cheep. So the graphic program I acquired was The GIMP. A free absol-floggin'-lutely superb program that is almost as good as the several hundred dollar programs. And could even, perhaps, be better then them. I'd seen people to really astonishing things with GIMP (check out this amazing GIMPer's site Genuine Graphics).
So, I began.
At first what I made was very much like what you see come out of Windows Paint, or some such program, but, I pushed on. I'd never been very creative, my own creativity-lack held me back somewhat. Things began to look less and less like paint and after about a year of graphic work I was actually called upon by a business to make graphics for them, and to throw some things together for a thriving gal's forum. In February of 2007 I put together this site. Though I wasn't always very good at keeping up, I made graphics all the time, just didn't post them. But now, here I am, hoping to actually keep the site up. So now, as you sally forth toward the graphics keep a few things in mind. Please.
Don't hotlink!
If you'd like to use one of the graphics here, or two, or three, or four, or any of the graphics listed for taking then save them to your own server!! I've heard tale of countless sites that had to close down because their traffic didn't have the thoughtfulness or kindness to save the inages to their own computer then uploading to their own server! I'd be so happy if you would be above these other less then kind people. When snagging graphics, you're going to have to lemme know which post the graphic was in and what number for any of my posts after August 2007, I rarely delete my graphics unless they're so terrible they pain me to look at. Currently I've got it so you can't just save them but have to contact me, it's a bit of trouble for you, but a ton less for me so I hope you don't mind. Lemme know about it and I'll send you the graphic so you can save them/it to your own computer!!
Always credit.
Always, always, always, when using a graphic make sure, even if it's in small print, you've said that I was the one that made the graphic. If your using a wallpaper then credit isn't nessicary, though passing me along to the next person would be awfully sweet of you! (I also owe credit, my credit page link is on the sidebar.)
Requests!
I'm not one of those ginormous sites who have so many visit-ers, requesters, and traffic that they can't take requests. Anytime you wish comment about a request and we'll get in touch. When requesting it would be really awesome if you would bring the photo. It isn't always that easy to find a photo. If you want a wallpaper, say of, your latest movie fandom, and the cute twins in the movie. Then you'll have to send me the photo, more then likely I haven't seen that movie and will be clueless as to what twins your speaking of. Besides, saves me a ton of trouble searching high and low over this vast cyberspace for some picture. Therefore, cutting it short, SUPPLY THE PICTURE! (And I spent all those words when I could have just used three...)
Linking Me, Linking You.
Sometimes refered to as affiliating, (you might have seen something about affliating on the side bar. *points*) The whole deal is sites of the same interests putting each others links up. Kind of a "If you link me I'll link you" deal. Which is exactly my rule. But one of those Cauldron Pool buttons up, lemme know about it and ta-da! There's suddenly your link on the side bar! Also, if perchance you do not have the means with which to make yourself a icon we can either make do with a text link or supply a picture and I'll make you a icon.
All in all, if we all follow the Golden Rule we should all live happily ever after and on and on in Cauldron Pool. Which sounds so very fairy tale-ish.
Enjoy!! |
