I got tired of my catoon self. It just wasn't "me" if you know what I mean. 
So now my picture is of the Blue Mosque in Herat, Afghanistan. It is a very old, famous mosque, known for the blue tile designs that cover it. Herat is also known for its blue glass. Of course, in the past twenty years, the tradition of glassmaking has been all but lost.
I've been wanting to go to Herat ever since I read the book, "The Sewing Circles of Herat". After furlough, we might go to Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif for a visit. Mike was going to go this May, but it hasn't worked out for him to go now. Who knows, we just might end up working somewhere in Afghanistan someday. Scary thought, isn't it?
And most people thought we were crazy enough when we said we were going to Pakistan!
