We're going to adopt you!!!!
Friday was an emotional day for us. Our foster daughter of almost three years was granted the Termination of Parental Rights. This was a huge step forward for her future and gave us much hope. For the first time we were able to honestly tell her that we were going to adopt her!
So, that night I took her by the hands and told her that we were going to adopt her and be her family forever! She said,"Like you adopted Bayleigh?" Yes, sweetheart, just like Bayleigh!
She gave me a hug and with a happy giggle ran off to play, while I stood there trying to hold myself together!
It felt so good to tell her...to say the words that we have wanted to say for so long. And now she knows, she will never leave us, she will always be ours and we will always be hers.
The next day she reminded me of how we changed Bayleigh's name when we adopted her and she had decided that her new name should be.....Princess Annaliese Elizabeth! I tried to laugh but the tears flowed as I told her we would probably have to drop the princess part! She asked why I was crying, and I just told her that they were happy tears.
Please continue to pray for "Princess Annaliese" her birth mom has 30 days to appeal the decision and if that happens, we could have to wait up to 2 yrs to finalize the adoption. She needs her life to move forward...emotionally it is very hard for her. This would also mean that she would have to attend public school, and my heart desires for her to stay home with the rest of the children.
Thank you for your prayers and support.

Congratulations! I remember the overwhelming sense of relief when the judge finally terminated parental rights on our daughter. She came to us at 3 weeks old, but was 17 months when rights were lifted. Her birth parents did appeal and she was almost 3 before we finally were able to legally make her ours. We have had many struggles with her in the last 10 yrs, but I wouldn't change it. She has autism and borderline intellectual functioning, and both her doctors have said these issues resulted from her beatings in very early infancy(3 weeks old and again at 6 months old during an unsupervised visit with birth parents) God Bless you for all you do. Again, Congratulations on another family formed!

Oh how wonderful for you all. I will be praying that things continue to move smoothly for you. I know how stressful this time is for you. I will pray for God's comfort as you rest in Him.
PS
I think you should keep the princess part!!

Nov. 6, 2006 - One Sunday morning my dh went to...

check on something in the fellowship hall and a homeless man was sleeping on the rug outside the door. There was a small porch over the rug and he was looking for a shelter out of the rain. He apologized and dh told him it was okay! We felt so bad for him that he couldn't get inside for better shelter!
We have a little building that is for Sunday school classes but when we finish our new building, we may be able to turn it into a place for someone in that situation.
So is your husband the pastor or do you just live near the church? What part of Florida did you live in? We are from VA but moved here by God's providence. We feel God has called us to stay here, but I would love to have the four seasons again!
I enjoyed reading about your fostering and I will be praying that everything goes smoothly and quickly!
Welcome to homschooling! I used to be a public school teacher and now I have been home with my girls four nearly six years. It is wonderful!
It was good meeting you! I will add you as a friend. If you would like to reciprocate that is great, but don't feel you have to.
In Him, Eva

We are starting a four day termination trial on Monday for our oldest foster child. He's been with us since June 2006 and will be 3 in March. He's been a foster child since he was 9 days old. We are very confident that termination will be done, and we are looking forward to the actual decision coming down. We also have a termination hearing on Friday for our two sibling foster children, but the parents are nowhere to be found, so it should go smoothly. So we should be able to adopt all three at the same time. Today was the supposed last visit day for our oldest. What a relief it will be when this is all said and done!
