Today was Gideon Breakfast.  We had a good meeting with several men of the community.  Bible Study, Prayer and then off to the cafeteria of Parkway Medical Center for Breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuit, juice and coffee.

Then off to Moulton, AL for a meeting with the Area Director.

Now I'm back home playing "Guess Who" by Milton Bradley with my 7 year old granddaughter.  She keeps winning!!! What is wrong is my attention span too short??? Or is it too long??

More later - God Bless you all!

Bible Reading Calendar Revelation Chapter 1

http://www.audio-bible.com/bible/revelation_1.html  Pray for our troops, send them a card. Pray also for Ms. Dixies Mother she just came home from the hospital.  Where she had an MRI and other tests. She is doing well now.

Today was busy. First Gideon Prayer Breakfast at 0700-0900, then pickup Gideon mail. Make Memorial Bible data entries. Take checks to bank and update the bank statement.
Last evening we had a birthday party for Jennifer and Michelle then the girls played games.  Holly's favorite is "dressup". Today I got Gabe lined up to blow the leaves out of the gutter. Then, the ladies of the house left me to baby sit the other grandchildren while they went shopping. Keeping 4 active girls and one boy busy without fights is quite a task. No broken bones.  The girls did some creative Christmas tree decorations and paper chains to decorate the family room. We also put the Christmas lights on the shrubs out front.
Pizza for supper and then a movie, now it’s mostly quite around the home front.  Whew!

FIRST NOBEL PRIZES:
December 10, 1901

The first Nobel Prizes are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden, in the fields of physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and peace. I added the links as this may be a good resource for some of you homeschoolers.  I also get to learn a bit as I make these connections and review the content before making the links. Review the list of those who won prizes for literature, you will find many books for reviews if you need another source.

1972 Breakthrough appears near in Paris peace talks.
I was in Vietnam when this was goin on. I came home in March of 1973. Some of you may remember that it was Henry Kissinger who finally worked our the agreement.

1864 Sherman arrives in front of Savannah.
Union General William T. Sherman completes his "March to the Sea" when he arrives in front of Savannah, Georgia. No! I am not old enough to have had a part in this.

Tomorrow, God willing, we will be in Crosspoint.  As they used to say, "Be in Church somewhere Sunday." Echoes of the Past - Billy Sunday.  There is hope for all of us, just look to Jesus.

God bless you all.

This morning as usual on Saturdays I went to the Gideon Prayer Breakfast at the Parkway Medical Center.  The usual agenda, Scripture reading today was James chapter 1. Then prayer requests.  One thing I have noted over the past few years is that the older you get, the longer your prayer list gets.  Seems like more of the folks you know need prayer. One of my friends is in the hospital with brain cancer, another broke 3 of his fingers, another has gout in both feet, the list could go on and on... but, we serve a Mighty God and I know he has us all in his hand. So if you are reading this pray for me and my friends.

I am the Memorial Bible Coordinator in our Gideon camp and am always encouraging folks to send "Thinking of You", In Recognition" or "In Memory" cards provided by the Gideons.  This allows one to send a card and donate some money to the Gideons that is 100% used for purchase and placement of Scriptures.  So visit the Gideon web site http://www.gideons.org if you need a card to send a family member or friend.  Its easy to use just click on the site and select a card, fill in the form with your credit card number and the number of Bibles you want to donate and The Gideons will send the card, you don't even have to spend .37 cents for the stamp.

Now we have Christmas Cards and we encourage all to use them for family and friends. You may order them by clicking on the card image on the page.

What better gift to give than that of God’s Word, allowing the recipient the opportunity to also receive eternal life in heaven. There are so many still who do not know where their eternity lies. There are so many still that do not have, and cannot afford, a copy of God’s Word.

Christmas cards are available in packages of 10 for $16 (2 cards of each style). You may order here on the web page by filling your information in below and clicking the Credit Card button or download and complete return the
Adobe Acrobat form by clicking here (PDF 139Kb).

Well enough for now, I have a bunch of leaves that need racking; I think it has warmed up enough to allow me to get out now. I'm just putting them in big piles,

my grandson Gabe will be back from New York soon and he will bag them up for me.

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?  Check out this awesome card by clicking on the card.

God bless you all and stay warm and safe.
