I am in the middle of the process of learning about teenagers. The biggest thing I have to adjust to is that the teenager does not need me in the same way as before. It is a gradual progression to mentoring the teenager. |

I was asked only a few days ago to download some pictures, on my
camera, for my youngest. My youngest had went outside looking for
mushrooms, and fungus. Again I am amazed at what my children are
learning.

As a family, we went to Florida for the
weekend. We saw lots of nature. However, only my wife and I
saw this magnificant bird feeding on the shore next to our cabin.
This was because our children were still asleep. I took several
pictures of this Great Blue Heron. HS continues even when on
vacation. My children found a beak from a fish. I would ask
them questions about the beak and the fish. What kind of food do
you think it eats? Where do the muscles attach? This type
of questioning builds critical thinking skills in our children.

| At least every other day when I come home there is HS Science project
That is either edible or smelling up the house. One time I came
home for lunch and found my Bride and youngest throwing flower all over
the back yard. I asked the crazy question, What are you two
doing? The response was a Science project. They were
pretending the ground was the moon to observe how the dust would settle
on the moon's surface. I should be use to these kind of things
happening, because we have HS for 7years. |
