I know it's a bit juvenile, but ever since DH and I have known each other, we have "Rabbit-Rabbited" each other on the first day of the month. The first person to say it is suppose to have good luck for the rest of the month. I don't know what that says about the person that doesn't get the words out in time...Then if you can say it on the first day of the year, BOY, you have good luck for a whole year. I am currently the YEAR "Rabbit-Rabbit" holder, which has not been my good fortune in many years. So I am basking in the delight of knowing I will have nothing but good luck this year. OK, and if you think I believe that, then try selling me a bridge... Anyway, Today is March 1, and DH just called and got his luck for another month. That's what inspired this entry. Very trivial stuff here. I know, there's probably better stuff to write about, but I slept in and don't have much time, so this will have to suffice.
DC are busy looking at their magazines - DS is looking at his LEGO magazine and drooling over the latest "need" which just so happens to be AquaRaiders. DD is trying to decide what she will buy next with "all her money" out of the American Girl Catalogue. These two catalogues are what inspires them to run up to the mailbox everyday, just in case they are there. Most days the come back with bills, which is why I do not bother going up myself.
It is raining right now, perfect timing. I fertilized the weeds in our "lawn" yesterday and was awakened to thunder and lightening this morning. It is so springy here right now, I love it. I have the worst case of spring fever and so do the DC. We spent the afternoon outside. I had a busy afternoon though. I took a LOAD of trash to the recycling center, including 6 containers of old oil, which they recycle there as well. Dear Neighbor and I then loaded a bunch of trash that we couldn't get rid of through the regular trash (old hot water heater, a batterized 4 wheeler that has never worked, an old drum that recently housed a dead, smelly squirrel, and a whole bunch of other junk) and took it to the dump, which is close to home, unfortunately. That felt really good to get rid of that. Then as I was inspired at that point, I went ahead and loaded all the household trash and took it back to the dump, which is how we get rid of our trash on a regular basis, instead of curbside pickup. (It's a lot cheaper). So there is not a bag of trash around.
Did I mention that it is almost 8:00? DD, who is telling time with amazing clarity, keeps telling me this, I suppose I shall have to get something to eat.. |
