A Dinner Menu for 30 Days

Posted in Bulk Cooking

I can't say that I find great joy in cooking. I do find joy when my family enjoys what I have cooked for them. I am very thankful that my DH is willing and able to cook breakfast for us most days. The kids know that if Dad leaves for work earlier than normal without making breakfast, it's not going to be a good morning -- aka -- I don't usually do much more than cereal. It's the way I was raised.

So I have been inspired to dig out my copy of Once-A-Month-Cooking book. There were some recipes that we liked and some that well - didn't. I put together a list of the ones that we most likely eat and sounded "easy". From that I created a menu of dinners for the next 30 days. Have I stuck to this menu -- nope. I'm a WAHM, a HS Mom, a wife and well -- some days life just happens. But it is good for me to have a plan - something to refer back to.

I wanted to share what my 30 day dinner menu looks like. My DH -- is he absolutely THE BEST in the world -- spent more than 30 minutes trying to figure out how to make this MS Excel spreadsheet into a format that would work on this blog. Scanning seems to work.

We use to have a menu that included breakfast, lunch and dinner. But honestly, we have usually have the same, boring things for breakfast and lunch, so why bother wasting the ink? So I am changing things up a big. I think this 30 day menu will work wonderully for our family. And I've hung a bullentin board in the kitchen on the side of the pantry to post the menu and the grocery list. This way when we run out of yeast for bread, I can update the grocery list.

The days that indicate "Saving Dinner" are menus from the website www.savingdinner.com -  I've used their menus for a while and I think I now have enough.

So here is my 30 day dinner menu --  hope you enjoy it & find it useful for your home.
