I went to bed last night with these verses on my heart. Even though most everyone can recite these from memory, I thought I would share them as a reminder to continually hide God's awesome word in our hearts.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Jeremiah 29:11-14a
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found by you, saith the Lord.
Until I looked up Isaiah 40:31, I don't think I had ever read the verses preceeding it. Let me share as I think they really set the stage for verse 31.
Isaiah 40:28-31a
Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint, and to those who have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but they that wait up the Lord shall renew their strength;
Do you think these verses tie into Galatians 6:9 ~~ And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
It's comforting to me that even when I am confused, weary and fainting, that the Lord, the Creator of the heavens, the earth and me, isn't fainting, He isn't weary, He is strong and is my rock of salvation. Amen!
