Sep. 7, 2007 - Summer is Over :-(

Hey everyone!

I don't know about you, but I'm really bumming that summer is over now  I've had a full summer, full of cramps, running hills and skating! I've done one bike race this summer in a town next to us, and I won it for all the women! I came in about 7th overall. This summer I worked on wall sits (I hope you know what they are, but they certainly hurt very bad!), and I've gotten so I can go 5 minutes straight! My goal is to beat our speed skating club record which is 38 minutes. Guess I've got a lot of training left.

Sewing news! I've finally bought the fabric I need to make a civil war dress! I'm making a dress from simplicity, and I've got beautiful tealy color fabric! I'll be able to start it as soon as I can order my corset kit! This past month I've also been working very hard on a trench coat for our state sheep and wool festival. The winner in the Junior cat. gets to Las Vegas in January for Nationals! Please pray for me tomorrow!

Jun. 9, 2007 - Hurray!!!

Goodmorning!!

I was officially dubbed as a "new cousin" last night at 11 o'clock! Yes, that's right, my aunt had a baby! She had a little girl, who's name is Amelia Page. She also has a proud big 4 year old sister. We get to go see her this morning, and then this afternoon we are going to a wedding for my second (I think) cousins wedding.

May. 31, 2007 - Hey!

Hi Everyone,

I've been really tired today, I don't know why. Maybe 10 o'clock bedtime doesn't quite agree with me with rising early! Anyway, Last night I watched the A&E version of Emma. I like that one better than the Miramax version, it's more straight foward. I watched it with my parents for my Regency film class. Next week I get to watch the 5 hour Pride and Prejudice!! I'm really excited to watch it, it's one of my very favorite movies. It's a treat when I do get to watch it, since it's such a long movie. I think the last time I was able to watch it was about 2 years ago already! I watched it out in Washington state with my best friends. It was really fun! We were so determind that we were going to finish that movie while I was out there!

I've started my new regency gown. I've designed this one by myself, and I'm really excited to get it in the works. I'm still only in the drafting stage, not even close of thinking of sewing yet, except to figure out how to make my bodice smooth, and not gathered. It'll be quite the journey, I'll try and keep everyone updated, if you wish it!

May. 22, 2007 - Sorry!!

So sorry it's been so long since I've posted, I've just been busy, and behind! I had an end-of-the-year homeschool event that I had to finish my dress for, and I made a regency era presentation bord. That left hardly any time to do my regency class!!

I'll get pictures of my dress up ASAP, I'm not on the computer that has it right now!

May. 9, 2007 - Yay!!

I am now truly ALMOST done with my regency dress!!! I've got everything sewen together, including that nasty placket (which got put in wrong  -it was backwards, oh well). Now I'm just putting the hem in, and putting in a few hook and eyes. It's really pretty!!! The fabrics not authentic, but I had it laying around the house. It was supposed to be matching prarie dress for me and my mom about 7 years ago, but it never happened. lol

I'll post pictures of it as soon as it's really done!!

May. 8, 2007 - Hi!

Hi everyone!

There hasn't been much time for posting lately. My grandma's in the hospital, and she's not getting better. We're considering moving her to a larger hospital where she'll get a lot more care.

I enrolled on Sunday for a class on regency (jane austen) adaption films. We're studying the costumes, how authentic they are, and such. I'm really excited about it! Mom's going to be including it with my regular school work, so it's gonna be so much fun!!

Speedskating is going to be starting soon! I'm really looking foward to it. I've missed skating so much!

May. 5, 2007 - Thanks

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your prayers, there much apprecated. We went to the very north-west corner of North Dakota this week for my second cousins funeral. It was sad, but we got to see all 11 of my great-aunts children. So that was 1900 miles of driving in about 3-1/2 days. Then after we got home, we discovered that my Grandma is in the hospital again. She has severe Pankriatites (I have no idea how you spell that), but atleast the doctors know what it is. We also found out on our way home from ND that the guy  my dad shares office space with's son died this week. So there were 2 funerals and 2 hospital visits in one week. We also planned to have a baby shower at our house this week, but we moved it to our church. So, I've been SUPER busy.

I've also been working on playing the latest Nancy Drew computer mystery. It's called "The Creature of Kapu Cave." The game is taking place in Hawaii. It's a blast.

Well, guess I'd better go.

Apr. 29, 2007 - My Cousin

Hey everyone,

Please pray for my cousin. She is 4, and broke her wrist and a bone above her elbow yesterday here at our house. She had surgery this morning to have pins put in the elbow, and she's in the hospital still. It was kinda a freak accident, and there was no way it could have been prevented. Her mom is 8 mos. pregnant too right now, so please pray for their entire family.
