May. 1, 2008 - More in chicken land
Well, we finally had the time and weather for the outside of the coop. Here are the materials we started with.

We had to get all of this behind the garage...eh hem...I mean Michel had to get all of this behind the garage.

This is the neighbors view...

We rented a power jigsaw...I estimate this took hours off the project. watch your fingers and toes Michel!

Handsome fellow isn't he?

Elijah was VERY concerned about the chickens being scared to come outside.
He tried to demonstrate how to flap your wings and walk like a chicken.

Now the kids can sit in their favorite tree and watch the chickens.
This is their favorite tree...our cherry tree.

Apr. 20, 2008 - Moving Day!
Well, now that you have seen the chickens and their living conditions. You will be happy to know that Michel built their new coop.
Michel designed this himself.

This project was met with some sweat and sore fingers...aim true with that hammer, honey.

The chickens were watching Michel and were very curious.
Michel made this door out of scrap word.

Rebecca moved the chicken and they liked her. They literally are so tame they would walk on her hands.

They were waiting their turns but didn't like to be seperated from each other.

THese two were very nervous by the last minute.
Elijah was fascinated with being with the chickens in the coop and Michel did a nice job...don't you think?

Now the work begins...
Stay tuned for Tues and Wedns when we build the outside of the coop!

Apr. 18, 2008 - chicken time
Here we are with our chickens outgrowing their growing coop. We brought them outside today and removed the inner tray so they could have grass to peck at. Here are some pictures.

chicken meet Shadow

Elijah is fascinated with the chickens
Aslan was as well...

Shadow kept a close eye on the situation.

That really white one is "Twinkle" and the other lighter one is "Princess". The rest aren't named.

Joseph had to get in the action. Now those chickens aren't that stupid...they did not peck my baby, only my big kids. Good chickens.
Joseph tried to show them how to do the hula hoops. He was practicing his sharing.
On of the things I love about spring is getting to hang the laundry again!

Apr. 6, 2008 - Last day in paradise
Here we are on our last day...I will say by now we were ready to get home to the kids!
This is the view out of our door looking down six floors into the courtyard.
We went back up on the Kohala coastline.

The happy couple!
I have had this dream to swim with Dolphins for a long time....It was really great!
sea turtle on the way to dolphins.

Here we went one last time to Hapuna...

Then we got whoppers...and watched our last sunset before going to the airport to come home.

In this picture I was humming..."Blessed be the Name of the Lord..."

Back in the Jeep to the airport!
I am ending with the hawaiian marriage prayer.
"Eka Haku, e kokua mai ia maua e ho'omana'o i ka manawa a maua i laura mua ai, a me ke aloha nui i ulu ai ma waena o maua E kokua mai ia maua e ho'ohana i kela aloha. i na mea ma'amau i ole e ka'awale. Ke nonoi ha'aha'a nei maua i na hua'olelo 'olu'olu a pika me ke aloha, a no na pu'uwai makaukau mau e noi i ka huila;a a e huikala aku. E ka Haku, ke waiho nei maua i ko maua male 'ana i loko o kiou lima. 'Amene"
Translation:
"Lord, help us to remember the time we first met, and the strong love that grew between us. Help us to apply that love in practical things so nothing divides us. We humbly ask for kind words filled with love. And for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive. Lord we leave our marriage in your hands. Amen."

Apr. 6, 2008 - The Zodiac
I think Michel and I agree this was sooooooo fun! We went out on the Zodiac boat...We saw three pods of whales! One Pilot Pod and two Humpback whales...These are the Pilot:
Here we are on the boat full of anticipation:
Can anyone guess how deep the water was here? 3,000 M
This is the Captain Cook Bay. We snorkeled here.
The monument
This was just before we went snorkeling. THe tatoo on my arm is fake and from the luau...LOL
Here we are after snorkeling...beginning to see the sun effects...
We went exploring the coast line..We learned about the different layers of lava...very interesting.

The water is 25 M here.
This is a sea cave we went into.

Apr. 6, 2008 - The luau
We went to the Island Breeze luau. These performers are missionaries with youth with a mission.
These two gentlemen were taking the pig out of the Imu which is an underground oven.
Then we had the royal procession to begin the luau.

The King
The food was traditional Hawaiian food.
This is one of the performers...Seona, we knew him "back in the day"...

The fire dancing was very exciting!

Apr. 6, 2008 - Exploring Hawaii
We went exploring Hawaii. We went up to Waimea. Parker Ranch is up there...the biggest ranch there is in the US!
Michel as we were climbing to Waimea. The background is the Kohala coastline.
We quickly found our way down to Hapuna Beach.
Hapuna beach is where Michel and I used to hang out.

Here we are...
and me
and us...

I'm not quite sure why, BUT our kids like this picture a LOT!
Michel LOVED to body surf, but had to have the perfect wave...he called it wavology!
we had to get ready after this for the luau!

Mar. 31, 2008 - First evening away
We are updating frequently so the kids don't have to miss us so bad! This is the scene we left...

Yes it was tough to leave. However, the kids were enthralled with Nana and Papa Sam so I think all will be ok!
Papa drove.

Mama worried.

We stopped to get drinks. One funny thing was that Papa was sitting in the van when he suddenly realized that he didn't HAVE to stay in the van because there were no kids. So we went in and chose our drinks together!

It was very very windy. We had to sometimes slow down to 50 to stay in our lane on the road.

After the rain it cleared up and we had a pretty sunset.

We decided to stop to eat. You kids would have liked it. It was called Fuddruckers!
Table for two?

Here are two shots from inside. We are going to bed now so tired and a long day to travel...Good night my sweets and may God keep you safe and bless you. I love you!
Mama

Good night!

Mar. 13, 2008 - our lives lately
We have been extreme on the busy side. Rebecca tried out last month and made flags. She will be marching with the Monticello Sages Marching Band in the fall.

Her sister Kate did this as well her senior year.
We had yet another birthday
Samuel is eleven and done with elementary school...on to middle school in the fall ! Way to go Sam!
Some people might ask why we work so hard...why we need money? Well, has anyone ever bought six pairs of glasses in one week?

We decided to go with more natural milk. We ventured into Amish country to fresh milk territory and "bring your own containers"
Fresh cream makes yummy whip cream skimmed straight off the top.

We have a new hobby...a flock of chickens we are raising for fresh eggs (and later meat)
Animals are always a good thing for kids...

We are gearing up to our vacation! We are off soon.

Feb. 21, 2008 - What happened while we were gone?
Joey turned two! We celebrated when we returned.
He loves "Cars" from disney, that was the inspiration of the cake.
Elijah lost his first teeth while I was gone. So the tooth fairy was flying (literally).
We had quite the snow upon return. Rebecca's boyfriend thankfully has a nifty plow.
It was quite a lot of snow.

That is the main news for the moment. I hope you have all been well,
May God Bless you.

Feb. 21, 2008 - Back on the Blogwagon
Well, It has been some adventuresome times and quite the break. This hiatus started with a trip out east to Pennsylvania to a wedding.
I was especially looking forward to spending time alone with Rebecca. We flew on this plane.

We were excited to get on the plane.
Rebecca was all smiles.
I had just cut my hair this day.
We arrived safe and sound to meet four other ladies.
This is Debbie Boon on the left and Suzanne Barnhill on the right. We were last together at Michel's and my wedding. It was rather fitting to be there together for Rebecca's wedding.
This is Linda and Geneva. They were YWAMers and stayed at the hotel with us.
The scenery there was beautiful.
we went to the wedding on the 26th of January.
We had good times of fellowship together at the hotel.
Then it was time to head home.
As we finally arrived home, a plethura of children cascaded out of the house. we arrived to a wonderful dinner cooked by Michel. Rebecca and I really had a good time and it was good to be together. I have enjoyed renewed friendships with those of my past.

Jan. 19, 2008 - Update on us
Eden is feeling better.

Joseph however is now sick, but trying to get better. See how red his cheeks were.

I have been having a lot of trouble with Naomi NOT sleeping. If only she could do this at night!

SO after another night of NOT sleeping I woke up to this.

The flat tire occured in the night. He said it was tire rot...no I didn't run over something.

The man came and fixed it.
We also had eye appointments. The eye doc thinks he found a way to help Ben.

Ben will be getting glasses.
One of my favorite things is seeing my kids enjoy friendship. These two pairs stick out in my mind. They ENJOY being together.

Eden and CHristina

Elijah and Ben.
Later in the day I just snapped a few ute pictures.

A man and his dog...

That would be Shadow
Now it has been known that Michel and I like coffee. Well, we get tired of remaking it so we have gone to the industrial size.

We can make up to 42 cups.
My evening finished up well with a night out with my friend Barb. She is a lot of fun and a strong Christian so it is good fellowship.

That is all for now....I hope everyone reading this stays healthy.
