Sep. 6, 2006 - SKATING & CO-OP BEGIN
I just want to remind everyone that our first homeschool skate, with Christian contemporary music, is Thursday, from 1-3pm at the Middletown Skateway. The cost is $3.00, including skate rental. Invite your homeschooling friends.
If your family would like to participate in co-op classes, but you haven't yet turned in your registration form, please bring it to Skating tomorrow.
Our parents have planned some great classes for this year. The teens are starting the year with Logic and Macbeth. The 5th-6th graders will have A Beka Science, Drawing, and a Christmas Unit Study. The 3rd-4th graders will read Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little and see the stories acted out at Victoria Theatre. Science Demonstrations and Strategy Games are also on the schedule. The 2nd graders and younger will have all kinds of fun activities with a Genesis One Unit Study. Classes start next Thursday, Sept. 14th.
Bowling is moving to the 3rd Friday of the month, which this month will be Sept. 15th, the day after co-op. It will be at Eastview Lanes, starting at 1pm.
Daniel and I had a good first day of classes yesterday and today is going well, too. We've cleared a lot of extra activities from our schedule this year, not all by our choice, but I think it is going to make for a less hectic more enjoyable time of learning at home. We still have co-op, 4-H, and piano! How is your homeschool going so far? What kind of extra activities are your children involved in that you think of as part of your homeschool learning?

Aug. 4, 2006 - August Events! Revised
Thursday, August 17th, from 7-9:00 p.m., a Homeschool Informational Meeting will be held at The Middletown Public Library. This is a meeting especially for new homeschoolers or homeschoolers new to this area. We will explain how to comply with Ohio's homeschooling regulations and answer any other homeschooling questions.
Tuesday, August 22nd, at 7:00 p.m., there will be an important Beth Yada Co-op Orientation Meeting for all parents who plan to have their children participate in co-op classes this year. Please do your best to attend. This meeting is also for parents who are considering co-op participation but would like more information.
The Leadership Team has discussed doing away with the print version of the newsletter and using this blog, instead, as a means of communication, Right now the blog may be read by anyone, but it can be changed so that only Beth Yada members can read it. What are your thoughts about restricting readership? Will this blog be something you will read and use? Let us hear from you.
