Mitchell's Cavern Part Deux

Posted on Oct. 11, 2007 at 9:03 PM in My Life

Yes, deux is french. No I don't speak-a French so don't ask me something in French. Ok so part TWO of the Mitchell's Cavern.......series?? Can I call it a series now?? *shrugs* oh well.. Actually, these are pictures of Hole In the Wall which is 15 miles east of the Cavern.. Tons of hiking and rock climbing... very fun.. Very physically challenging, which you will note by the sign I took a picture of.  :)

P1020136.jpg image by Shakino
Ahh the sign that got me excited :D I love physically challenging stuff :)
P1020133.jpg image by Shakino
The infamous Hole in the wall??
P1020134.jpg image by Shakino
They say indian's would hide down in the "holes" to hide from settlers and fugitives would hide down there to hide from the law. Interesting rock formation huh? Looks like a basket.
P1020135.jpg image by Shakino
AHHHH! THE INDIANS STILL HIDE THERE!!!!! And pose for pictures.,,........?? :) Mackenzie of course

Ok so now we have to do some major rock climbing? ARE YOU READY?!
P1020140.jpg image by Shakino
If you click on the picture to see the bigger version you will see a little "drop off" cliff at the bottom of the picture. We have to go down it :D How do we get down it you ask? Well can you see the metal ring? Heres a better picture of what we use to climb down there.
P1020141.jpg image by Shakino
Oh yes. The small holes to stick our feet in and grab onto to the others. For that is a long way down.. and it would hurt falling through the small, narrow passage :D. Ah,dangerous  you say? Why yes. Yes it is. I live for danger.
P1020144.jpg image by Shakino
Here is a better view.. :) Like my shoes? ;)

Ahh wait... This wasn't the only narrowest passage -in-the-whole-entire-universe-that-you-would-fall-to-your-death- in the park :)
P1020142.jpg image by Shakino
I was like 'WE have to go down that?!' and of course I went first again :D No pictures of my lovely shoes this time.
P1020143.jpg image by Shakino
We are at the bottom!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I turned around and was shocked that we just made our way through that small canyon?! Just click the bigger version.
P1020145.jpg image by Shakino
I see the light at the end of the tunnel....? :)

Oh and you thought that was the end of my rock climbing adventure? Oh no my friends. It only began there :D
P1020146.jpg image by Shakino
:D
P1020147.jpg image by Shakino
Awkward angle. Yes I am in a skirt again :) Umm lets just say thats as high as I made it :P
P1020149.jpg image by Shakino
Heh.. I couldn't resist screaming 'I'm queen of the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!' HA! The picture doesn't give the rock -or how high I climbed to take this picture- justice. But I was high enough up to if I had fallen... Tumble tumble tumble- broken bone!!!!!!! Yupo.. I was high up there.. The wind just about knocked me down too... It was about 40 - 50 mph wind gusts maybe even more. Oh I just realized my leg looks hyper-extended.. HA!
Oh yeah here is a picture of us climbing BACK up the same way we came down into the canyon.
DSCF0673.jpg image by Shakino <- Me P1020139.jpg image by Shakino <- This one was us climbing down.. not sure..

I told you I would post alot of pictures :) There were a ton more pictures but I'll spare you. :) They are just random ones.. :) All-in-all me Mackenzie and her dad had losta fun.. And then later Mackenzie spent the night. So it was really nice time :)

Tomorrow, or today for some of you, I work for the second time. I work from 4-8pm at The Gap. :) I'm excited yet nervous :)

Julia
PS- Nope didn't see any critters on that adventure either :(

Drop A Blossom!

I have 27 blossoms! Thank you!

Guess what!!! Almost all the pictures came up!!!! Yay!!!! And those pictures were great! I really enjoyed looking at them. : ) Yep! You seem to live for Danger! (saying that in a steve irwin accent) : D

Yep! I love to ice skate. Well, I only did it once and it was on a creek in Ohio at a friends house. And I did it in regular shoes but it was still fun. : ) Do you have an ice rink near your house? I'm not sure if we have one. I think I'll have to ask around and see if we have one that's close by. : )

The thought of the type of skirt never ever crossed my mind. : ) Yes, I understand about that. : )

Terri Irwin, huh? Yep! I can see you out in the wild. Saving endangered animals. (nodding) Yep! I could. : )

Oh, that's great! Every zoo needs tigers. : ) I love Tigers and Elephants! Can't go wrong with big cats. : )

Ohhh, A snake exhibit! Yeah. . . ummm. . .that would be cool. I can handle looking at snakes if I see them on tv and if there's a glass window between us. : D Big ones? Goodness! Sarah and I already seen a snake that looked like the one off of The Pirates of the Carribean (?). The second movie. It was really cool looking! : )
Well, have a wonderfully blessed day!

lots of hugs,
Jordan Lee

Hah I doubt it but You're willing to try xD, ah actually no I have never taken Kendo before and I have no clue where my facination comes from, I have been facinated with swords for as long as I can remember, just recently though I have been facinated by the Samurai and the weapons they used. Oo... French. :-) As for deux being two, tu as raison ma cherie. *grin* I'll translate, 'You are correct, my dear.' Sorry. The French lessons are sticking lately. LOL

A clothes discount? Awesome. I have two pairs of Gap jeans...... they happen to be among my favorite pairs.

I'm reading Lights of the Veil, The Falconer's Knot, and The Singer of All Songs now. It can get confusing, but they're all very different. Lights of the Veil is set in modern-day India; The Falconer's Knot is set in Renaissance-era Italy; and The Singer of All Songs is fantasy. So I don't get them too mixed up. :-)

Love & Hugs,
Becca

Sorry I haven't commented. I took a little trip. Come read where!!
So you didn't like 300?? Man, I really like it. But I bet it was annoying watching it like that. lol. Once my dad's friend taped Smallville for us, and it was a chinese movie type. The words were minutes late. It was blasted annoying, but being the faithful fan I am I watched them all. lol
I haven't seen Troy. Mom thought there was too much stuff that was inappropriate for us to see.
LOL!! If your Smallville viewing has been that long, then it would be totally confusing!! lol!! We have a hard time watching it too, cause the littles can't watch it, so we have to watch it late at nite.
Glad you liked my life posts. I like them too.
As Always...

Tu ne parle pas de francais??? Hehe. I love French. :-)

Those are great pics! In the middle of nowhere - maybe that explains why I haven't heard of it. Lol. I don't know about that rock climbing though. It looks a little dangerous! :-)

I hope your job goes well!

lol Kimono are worn by many women in japan ^^ and yes, that doesn't mean that she was one :P
Yes, It's a pity though, geisha are so lovely! But the great thing about Japan is that they like to stick to their roots :D While also moving forward technology and trend wise XP

P.S.

Your pictures go to prove that a girl can do about almost anything in a skirt!

I went hiking in a skirt not too long ago, because we weren't expecting to and decided like at the moment to go, and I did as good as I would have in pants. heehee It's not impossible!
