Opps again
I haven't been very faithful to my blogging. I have been super lazy with animal facts and I didn't do Animal News on Monday.. Sorry... Here's the animal fact for today..
The Tiger Quoll, also known as the Spotted-tail Quoll and the Spotted Quoll, is a carnivorous marsupial mammal, native to Australia. It is mainland Australia's largest carnivorous marsupial. This quoll feeds on a large range of prey including birds, rats, other marsupials, small reptiles and insects. It is a good climber but spends most of its time on the forest floor. Although nocturnal, it spends the daylight hours basking in the sun. It nests in rocky banks, hollow logs, or small caves. It produces one litter a year with four to six young. The gestation period is 21 days. The female's pouch develops during breeding season, and is open towards the tail. The young remain in their mother's pouch for about seven weeks, and it takes some 18 weeks for them to become independent of the mother.

Animal Fact
The difference between a Alligator and a Crocodile:
Alligator's have:
They have a shorter and U-shaped nose and is much wider
Are normally more docile
Tend to be dark in color
Teeth don't protrude as much
Femals make nest in vegetation
Crocodiles:
Snout is long,more narrow,and are V -shaped
Aggressive and will kill a human
Brownish coloration
The upper and lower jaw are the same length and width therefore the teeth point out and are visible
femals make nests in mud and sand
Those are just basics..
Here is a pic of a American alligator on top and a Freshy on bottom. The pic below those is a Salty

Freshy's aren't as aggressive as Salty's but can be.. Bonus: since an alligator has a more wider jaw it has more a powerful jaw pressure and can break through a turtles shell with one bite..
Pics: first two from San Diego zoo. The salty from google

Animal Fact
The giant panda is a favorite of the public, at least partly on account of the fact that the species has an appealing baby-like cuteness that makes it seem to resemble a living teddy bear. The fact that it is usually depicted reclining peacefully eating bamboo, as opposed to hunting, also adds to its image of innocence. Though the giant panda is often assumed docile because of their cuteness, they have been known to attack humans, usually assumed to be out of irritation rather than predatory behavior.

Animal Fact
Hahah I have been gone all weekend so that is why I haven't been posting... Ok so today's animal fact!
A Sun Bear is the smallest of all the bears and is often called "dog bear" because of it's small stature. They are all black except for the yellow-orange horseshoe shaped markings on it's chest. The are a threatened species (vulnerable) at this point but could become endangered very soon. It is often called "Honey Bear" in Malay and Indonesia..
