Nov. 26, 2008 History lesson
I have started Geocaching™. At this time there are 681,834 active geocaches around the world!
Yes, around the world! In the last 7 days, there have been 443,538new finds by users.
Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache.
You can learn more about it and register for a free account here.
- If you're headed out on the trail, pack any needed supplies such as water, food and extra clothing. Bring both a map and a compass. Check geocache terrain and difficulty ratings.
- For safety, let someone know where you are going.
- Do not forget your GPS unit and extra batteries.
Bring friends and family with you; sharing the experience can be very rewarding. Pets are usually welcome, too!
- Remember that distances can be deceiving. A geocache can take longer to find depending on trails, rivers and other obstacles.
What I like about it.
- You get to exchange items with something else in the cache.
- You can organize events for other geocachers.
- It is free!(unless you want to have prenium membership.)
Here's some pictures of us doing geocaching:

This is at Indian Rock.

This picture is of Joy and my Geotrax system. One of my favorite things is Geotrax. I like this configuration because it runs through our toy castle & has two tracks, express & freight.

Dec. 31, 2007 Almost 2008......
Almost 2008,and my brothers 8th birthday. My brother was born Jan. 1, 2000. Every year (for as long as i can remember) we popped mini fire crackers on New Years Day. In the garage. It makes a BIG mess. I will try to get a picture of it tomorrow.
