clean it and they will come
about once a month, give or take a few weeks, i deep clean my girls' room. this means under the beds, inside the closet, wash down, wipe up, vacuum, sort and toss. it takes a good two hours and when i'm done it feels great. not only to me, but to the girls. whenever i clean their room that's when they want to play in it. things that had been hiding under the bed and in the closet for weeks are now found and it's so much more fun to play when everything is neat and where it belongs.
i didn't clean their room today.
i cleaned my van. i took all the car seats out, hauled out trash and other miscellaneous items, vacuumed, wiped everything down, cleaned the car seats and put it all back together again. i put the coloring books and colors in the caddy between the girls' car seats and it all looked very neat and organized.
then i came inside to do some work inside the house. when i went back outside guess where i found the girls?
they were sitting in their car seats coloring.

That is too funny. My oldest was reading in the car once - I asked him why - he said it was nice and quiet. Can you believe a house with 4 boys might be noisy!?!?
Thanks for the compliment on the picture on my blog. It is my two middle boys on the beach in Mexico. I see you have a beach picture too.

That is so funny and too true!
I've been meaning to do that deep cleaning thing around here...but it seems as soon as I start it begins to get un-done. Oh well...I should still try, right? Or should I relax with the new Homeschooling Methods book and a cup of decaf???
Decisions...decisions...

Of course I'm out of my mind! You know as well as I do that you don't get to keep all of your mind when you have three kids at home!
hehehe...I much prefer the comfort of my bed as well...and a nice hot shower! But the boys are so looking forward to it and *I* am REALLY looking forward to spending time with some VERY fun homeschooling friends from my church! The leader of our gang of hooligans is my friend Dixie-- who is a PRO camper! She has nine kids and is bringing along at least 2 of her nephews. She's already planned the cooking (which is the hardest part if you ask me) and dh will show up to set the tent up for me. I could do the tent but it wouldn't be as quick or as easy as he can...so why should I refuse his generous offer?
If things are so terrible I can always come home. We're only going about an hour north of where we live. It'll be great fun and lots of extra eyes and hands to help me out with my kiddos (mine are part of the youngest set in the group going).
Of course, I may never do this again but I have to at least try once, right?
Love,
Marsha
