Deus Caritas Est

A good week

Well, we're having a good week so far with our lessons.  It has been a rocky road since we started building the house.  It seems to be all consuming at times.  The kids have been staying on task better since I've been more present during the day.  I've gotten into the habit of doing chores, talking on the phone, being on the computer, paying bills, just about anything you can think of during the children's lessons.  I noticed however, that not much was getting done.  I would be upset with the kids, but I know I was really to blame.  It was obvious to them that their lessons just weren't that important to me.  This week we've started every morning with prayer, followed by Bible stories, or saint stories, and then proceed with our day.  We've been trying to follow our MOTH schedule.  It has made things run so much more smoothly.  I have stayed in the room and done "preschool" with Hannah and Andrew while Jack and Megan work independently.  If they have a question I am right there to answer, and help.  No more excuses for unfinished work.  I know this sounds like common sense, but sometimes I just lose sight of what's the most important thing I should be doing.
