    Tribute to my Dad

Here is my tribute to my dad:

Dad is my hero. He is my friend. He is my source of wisdom and guidance in tough and lonely times. He is my teacher, when I need help with school. He is my listener, when I need someone to talk to. He agrees with me, when no one else will. Ultimately, my dad is my dad. He is always there for me, and I want you to know how great he is.

My dad is very smart. He went to the Naval Academy, and was in the service for five years after that. During that time he was married to a beautiful, Christian lady (my mom). He also went to seminary. When he finished his courses in the seminary, he became a pastor at a church in a small town in PA. By then my sister Hannah, and I had joined the family. We lived there for five years (during which my brothers were born). Dad noticed that there was a great need for Navy Chaplains, and began seriously considering and praying about joining back into the Navy as a chaplain. After much thought and prayer, we moved to a new state, where he joined the Navy and began working as a chaplain. On our first tour, he went on one deployment, and had a lot of other missions and work-ups. We are now on our second tour, and he has been on deployment once, and is getting ready to leave again in 6 weeks. The last two deployments were to the Middle East, but not in Iraq. He is going to be in Iraq for 7 months now, and we would appreciate prayer for his protection and safe return from Iraq. I don't know how we...I could live without him..

He is very good at his job. He is patient, hard working, and sensitive to other people's needs. Even though his work schedule is very hetic and busy, he makes the best out of the time he has with us at home. He plays games with us, wrestles with the boys, listens to us play our music for him, helps mom with teaching us school, takes us on day trips, and is just the best dad ever! He can be so funny sometimes, but is also serious when it comes to teaching us how to grow in our relationship with the Lord. He has taught us so much about Jesus, and my mom and he were the ones who led me to the Lord. Dad is one of my best friends, which is really cool. My dad is special in so many ways, and I just want him to know how much I love him, and how much he means to me. God bless you dad, and God bless every one of you guys too!

        Have a great day!

Wow, it sounds like you have a great dad. As it says in the Word to never cease praying for the brethren, I'll be praying for you dad in his deployment to Iraq.

I understand what it is like to have a father deployed. When I was very little and we lived in Florida, my father was deployed very often on aircraft carriers.

This should be my father's last deployment if he doesn't pick up rank. This deployment has been one of the hardest we've gone through, but we are almost through!

We'll be praying for your father. Have a good night!

Sounds like your father is a great man of God. Our fathers are very much alike, except mine is not a naval chaplain. You are truly blessed!

Who I Am and What I Believe

My name is Arya and I am a daughter of the King of Kings. I have been a Christian from the age of four and was led to the Lord by my parents. I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ came down to earth to die for our sins and that He rose again from the dead and is now sitting at the right hand of God the Father. I have confessed my sins and asked Jesus into my heart, and now look forward to living in heaven with Him for eternity. I am now 15 years old, and I praise God for His merciful kindness in allowing me to be born into a Christian family who serves the Lord. My dad is a Navy Chaplain, and has been on three deployments in the last 3 years. My mom is a stay-at-home mom who homeschools us kids and keeps things running at our house. I have three siblings and 6 pets. I love music, and have been playing the violin for 2 years and the piano for 8 1/2 years. I am in 9th grade, and love History and Reading. Crocheting, reading, cooking, and music are among my favorite pastimes. I hope that my blog strengthens and encourages you and look forward to hearing from you. God bless you all.
