May. 20, 2006 - Back from yearly conference
We had our Illinois conference this weekend. It was fun to attend and recapture the enthusiasm with all the homeschoolers. Some seem so scared and confused! Boy, do I remember being there. (Sometimes I'm still scared and confused!) Others seem so weary.
Hope they drank deeply from some refreshment. I know I did!

Yes, I remember our first hs conference very well. We hadn't started homeschooling yet and had lots of questions. That conference was a good one, too. Deb Bell was one of the speakers. She was wonderful and I learned so much! Now, I go for a different reason than I first did. Now, I go to look, look, look... okay, and to buy, buy, buy. :-)

I so wish that I had known you would be at the ICHE convention! Perhaps we could have met! Wasn't it good this year? I went to lots of workshops with Jeff Myers, Lou Priolo, and Diana Craft (of course). I also ordered the MP3 disk so I can listen to everything else that I missed.
I started going two years before we even began schooling and I always come away recharged and excited. And usually blessed and convicted too.

I was at the Illinois conference, too. It's was wonderful! I'm so grateful for the many homeschoolers in our state (including you) who have done such great things to pave the way for us new to homeschooling.
