Syria’s pursuit of self destruction

I few weeks ago I commented on Isaiah’s oracle concerning Damascus which has yet to be fulfilled. I offered some helpful advice to Damascans, based on recent events: move.
But Syria seems more determined than ever to pursue a policy of self destruction. Assad says Syria will retake the Golan Heights from Israel. Hezbollah is already resupplying (from guess who?) since the ceasefire. Lebanon is not going to disarm Hezbollah; Hezbollah is clearly running Lebanon’s foreign and military policy (is that not what state- sponsored terrorist groups do?).
But if destruction comes on Damascus, it will be of the Lord Himself:
And
this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the
peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while
they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their
sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. Zechariah 14:12
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.

08/17 Update: Now Syria wants to make its own Hezbollah- like organization, because Israel does not have enough terrorists and crazies trying to wipe them off the map.
