Thirty minutes a day, day two

Our hypothetical person is establishing the stronghold of truth that “God loves me”, and is studying John 15:9
for thirty minutes a day for one week to help himself understand
exactly what the Scripture says and how it applies to him, personally.
On day one
of the study, he looked up “loves” in the dictionary, and wrote the
definition down, so he could be sure he knew just what “God loves me”
means. He also wrote down John 15:9, from his Bible and also from the
KJV.
Day Two
· Choose key words to look up from the Scripture: I have loved you even as the Father has loved Me. Remain in My love. John 15:9 · Look up each word in Webster’s, and a Greek and Hebrew dictionary reference, if you have one, such as Strong’s or Vine’s,
and write down the meaningful definition, if any. You’d be surprised at
the revelation that can come from looking up a simple word that you are
positive you already know everything about, such as all, in Webster’s! Example: Have loved (Strong's):
to love; wider than mere feelings of affection or attachment, embracing
also the judgment and the deliberate assent of the will as a matter of
principle, duty, and propriety. Have loved (Webster's): to hold dear, to cherish, to feel devotion or tenderness for, to like, desire, or take pleasure in. ·
Take the Scripture card to school or work; memorize it; meditate on the
Scripture using insights gained from the word studies; and use the Scripture in the truth trainer as necessary throughout the day.
I have just discovered the Blue Letter Bible
website; it is a wonderful tool to study individual passages. Besides
the Bible helps, such as Strong’s and Vine’s, each passage is keyed to
commentaries, such as Matthew Henry or Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown;
and sermons from Spurgeon, or Chuck Smith, if available.
