My sweet Mama. I spent most of the day with her today. She is not eating. ::: sigh ::: I know people do that when they are at the end. My grandparents both quit eating before they died. Next week my sister and I need to help Mama go through her things, and write down who gets what. We have been putting this off ... every time she brings it up, I say, “I want you, Mom, and not your stuff!” But we need to, it will give her peace of mind to know that her treasures will all have new homes where they will be loved.

We have been prepared for this time for so long ... we have known for months that it was coming ... she is going to Jesus, and perfect freedom, perfect joy, and perfect love. I am happy for her about that, and a little envious. And yet it is still so hard. The grandchildren, my children and my sister’s children, are taking it hard. If you think of us, pray for us. I thank you very much.

I can understand some of what you are going through. My grandpa died a couple of weeks ago. We knew it was coming, too. He had lung cancer. It took about a month and a half.

Praying here

John's parents are both gone now. Mom had surgery for cancer day before yesterday. The kids are focusing on grandparents and thoughts of losses here at the moment too. Will add your families in when I pray for ours.

My heart goes out to you at this time. My dad passed away on Jan. 10. We were not sure if he was going to heaven though he had asked my mom to forgive him for being a bad husband and father. (He wasn't really bad just knew he could have been better.) We all had tried to speak to him about this at different times but had gotten bad answers. God has given me peace about it though. My oldest son did the eulogy and it was filled with memories to make people smile at the funeral. Check out my page and my daughter's for what we wrote.(momanna98) God will give you the strength you need at this time to do all that you need for her. i will be prayig. Blessings to you and your family.

My daddy went home three years ago.
I am so glad that he is with the Lord, and that I am assured of being with him in eternity, but I still miss him very much.

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.
Romans 15:13 (Amplified)

Acquainted with grief

We have really so little experience of this Last Enemy compared with former generations. I was very grateful that my children were able to be at my grandmother's side as she slipped into Heaven last February. We miss her so much, but we were all able to see it as her glory day. I think the children are less afraid of death now - though it isn't something we think about often.

May God comfort you.
