First amendment abolished in Colorado

posted Thursday, October 9, 2008 :: 5:48 PM

Colorado's Democratic (with a capital "D") and pro-abortion governor signed into law SB200, which criminalizes publishing references to homo[s-x]uals that could be perceived as "discriminatory:" Wow, I have already broken this law, and I didn't even know it was a law until today.

Unfortunately, change is coming

posted Tuesday, October 7, 2008 :: 7:42 AM

I discovered when I started to work this morning, that the video I had linked to in yesterday's blog post had been taken down. Why, I ask myself, and who took it down? There must be something there that someone doesn't want regular folks like you and I to see. (By the way, I did find the same video in an alternate link. Quick and go see it, before it gets taken down again! I will try to keep updating the links.)

So that got me to thinking, what else is being hidden?

The Real Obama by Thomas Sowell introduces the Obama connection - alliance, not association - with radicals and Weather Underground terrorists.

If you were a child during the 60s, as I was, and can't quite remember who the Weather Underground was or what they did, the Weather Underground Documentary will fill you in. It turns out  they are as bad as Al Qaeda for trying to destroy the country.

Then go read the American Thinker for some fascinating commentary on the Radical Communist Left and how Obama is constantly communicating, in his speeches and appearances, that he is one of them.

I think when Obama says "Change is coming," he might mean something a little different than what you and I assume he means.

Is blue the new brown?

posted Monday, October 6, 2008 :: 3:31 PM

 The "Obama Youth" are chanting "alpha, omega" as they march in. You know, Gerard Baker, UK journalist, was making a satire when he compared Obama to the Messiah. But these kids (and these) don't know its a joke. Apparently the adults who taught them their chants and songs don't either. That's the scary thing. This is when a little knowledge of history comes in handy. Hitler had the Hitler Youth. Every fascist dictator in the 20th century had the school kids singing praises to them, too.

Now, go read Understanding Obama for an explanation of this personality cult following. Then forward these links to everyone you know. People simply don't know what we will be in for should Obama win the presidency in one month.

Update: Wow, it didn't take the censors long to delete the Obama Youth video chanting to Obama, "alpha, omega!" Fortunately, the video has been saved, and enterprising people are reposting it as fast as it gets taken down. Go see before it gets taken down again!

We shouldn't be surprised

posted Tuesday, September 23, 2008 :: 5:30 PM

About the financial crisis we currently find ourselves in: the government does not run its finances according to biblical principles, and banks also do not run their finances according to biblical principles. Anytime biblical principles are ignored or actually rebelled against, negative consequences are sure to follow.

Fractional reserve banking is not a biblical financial principle. Let's say a bank has $1,000,000.00 in deposits. They figure not every depositor is going to withdraw all the money on the same day. Maybe they think they will only need to pay $10,000.00 of that $1,000,000.00 on any given day. So they will "use" the other $990,000.00 of the depositors' deposits in various ways, usually through loans. They make money by charging bank fees to their depositors and interest on their loans. But what happens when people stop making payments on their loans, and depositors want their money? Since the bank has only kept a fraction of its reserves on hand, they cannot pay their depositors, and the bank fails.

If we as a nation returned to biblical principles in handling money, and to biblical business principles, the economy would run along like gangbusters. And here is a collection of interesting articles I have read about the financial crisis:

Guess again who's to blame for the US mortgage meltdown
Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac execs now offering advice to Obama
Rules bent to provide Obama advisers loans
White House warned about Fannie and Freddie
Ron Paul: This bailout won't be the last

Just think if he went there and said, "All this money is going to the Hurricane Ike victims - regular folks - in Texas and the Gulf." I think it would have said more than however many TV ads he is going to buy with his loot.

If you want to be respected, give respect

posted Monday, September 8, 2008 :: 10:52 AM

A university professor at Yeshiva University, a conservative private university founded on and teaching Judaism and Torah, went on leave two years ago as a man, just a few weeks after receiving his tenure, and returned last week as a woman. Even though it flies on the face of Torah, and the university's principles, the university is allowing it because the professor, Mr. Jay Ladin, is threatening a legal battle if they do not.

Religious universities should be allowed to hire (and fire) like- minded and like- living individuals (and non- like- minded, and non- like- living individuals) just as churches can or ought to, and just as religious private schools can or ought to. Our non- discriminatory laws go too far when they require RELIGIOUS institutions to non- descriminate in favor of those who do not observe the same RELIGIOUS views or lifestyle.

The comments on this story are all over the map, but most preach love, tolerance, and hooray for the professor, while some agree with God and His word. There is one commenter who said that since the professor earned his tenure as a man, he should be required to show up to work and do his job as a man. Such common sense, and I completely agree. Cannot a good contract lawyer prove for the university that since the contracts were made and signed by "Jay Ladin," it is to "Jay Ladin" and no one else that the contract applies?

Anyway, I was wondering if it is part design on the trans- and gay community, to secure these positions while deceitfully portraying yourself in compliance with university policies, and then once the position is secure, to switch and threaten legal action - in other words, to force the offensive lifestyle down the institution's throat. There are tons of universities out there which would have no problem with Mr. Jay Ladin, no matter who he came to work dressed like. So why Yeshiva? Because it offends them to their core, that's why. It is the highest form of deceit and disrespect. For someone practicing that level of dishonesty and disrespect to demand HONEST RESPECT in return, is staggeringly arrogant.

On Sarah Palin

posted Friday, September 5, 2008 :: 5:19 PM

So I really like Sarah Palin on the issues - and she is an evangelical pro-life Christian, a creationist (she believes God's Word!) and strongly supported Israel even before she knew she was going to be in the lime-light. I still am struggling with the mother of a newborn working. But McCain is looking better to me because of his VP. Who knows why God has raised her up at this hour? We will just have to wait and see. Here are some interesting recent articles about Sarah Palin:

Evangelical faith drives Palin's pro-Israel view - Washington Times
Righteousness exalts a nation - World Watch Daily
A Tale of Two Resumes: Obama and Palin - The Daily Standard
Oprah Balks at Hosting Sarah Palin - Drudge
Obama Should Have Picked Hilary - Philadelphia Daily News (the liberals are hopping mad about McCain's popular Palin pick - please note the hypocritical comment toward the end: "What infuriates me is seeing the likes of Sarah Palin reap the rewards of the feminist movement, the very tenets of which she disdains." In  other words, feminists only want equal opportunity for women when they agree with them. Hypocrites.)

On the Republicans

posted Wednesday, September 3, 2008 :: 6:08 AM

In 2004, I watched the RNC convention. This year, I'm not. Out of the field of RNC presidential nominees, I had issues with all of them. About McCain, there are some things I don't like, but two things which REALLY bother me. The first is McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform. It flies in the face of the Constitution, in my opinion. It restricts free political speech, which the 1st Amendment guarantees. So either McCain is ignorant of the Constitution, which I doubt, or he is using his position to benefit himself, which is more likely. But whether he is ignorant, or using politics to benefit himself, the result is the same: both possibilities disqualify him as a principled leader.

My second issue is McCain's position on homeschooling. He apparently doesn't have one, as the last time I checked his website, homeschooling was nowhere mentioned, although it was on the other nominees' campaign websites. So if you are running in a party which traditionally supports homeschooling, but you don't personally, then what do you do on your campaign website? You don't mention it. Does anyone have better knowledge of McCain's position on homeschooling? Can you leave a link in the comments?

Now something else has come up - McCain's VP choice, Sarah Palin. When I first heard about it, I thought it was nuts - I thought he had a responsibility to choose someone who could be president in case something happened to him (he is 72 years old, after all, and people die of old age at that age). So my initial reaction to that decision, is that it is one more proof that he is making decisions based on what is best for McCain, and not what is best for the country. Which disqualifies him as fit for presidential office.

Apparently he choose her because she is a conservative Christian, and he is trying to shore up his conservative and Christian credentials, since without them, he can't win the election. I read about how her nomination has sparked a new Mommy War, about whether mothers with newborns can work (I wouldn't if I didn't absolutely have to in order to put food into my children's mouths). So there is another thing, which troubles me. It troubles me more that she is willing to work full time with a newborn, than the teen daughter issue (see below).

The fact that she had her baby when she discovered that at 44 she was pregnant with a Down's Syndrome baby, says to me that at least here, her Christian principles dictate her life decisions even when it is not convenient for her -- so that is a mark in her favor. About the pregnant teen daughter ... that says more to me about the daughter's father, not her mother. My opinion. So it seems we have a Christian family whose children have sinned and made mistakes. I am not so self- righteous that I cannot say, "Well, who of us haven't sinned and made mistakes." I want to side with Jesus on the daughter issue, and say, "Neither do I condemn you, Go and sin no more." (John 8). The daughter could have compounded the first sin with an abortion, and no one would have known but God, and the family could have appeared lily white in front of the nation. The fact that she didn't says something to me about her strength of character, and the depth of her Christian conviction.

So all of that is to say, I do not know who I am going to vote for. Definitely not Obama. But how can I vote for McCain? The only thing I can do, is trust that God raises up and puts down, and turns the hearts of kings like water in His hand, so that His own purposes come to pass. In Him, I put my trust, not in princes whose only strength is the arm of flesh.

One question answered

posted Thursday, July 3, 2008 :: 7:33 AM

While Obama claims to be a Christian, he has definitively answered the question of whether he is or not in his own words. The short answer: not in the biblical, historic sense. So the question remains: What does he consider himself, then? He is still afraid to say, which makes me wonder: What does he have to hide?

Will the real Barack Obama please stand up?

posted Tuesday, March 18, 2008 :: 7:33 AM

Okay, now this is getting just plain surreal. Obama himself is seen by the Muslim world as a traitor and apostate, because his father was Muslim and he left, he claims, the religion of his father for Christianity. There are still rumors out there that maybe Obama is a closet Muslim, but he vehemently denies such.

Then his biggest supporter, Oprah, who for the first time in her history is campaigning for a politician, is so into this new age Course in Miracles psuedo- Christianity that preaches a false Christ and a false gospel, that she is using her radio program for this entire year to teach the Course in Miracles to her listeners. So it could be that she feels such an affinity with Obama because he is maybe also into this new age Christianity-  light with a little occultism thrown in for good measure (because that whole sovereignty of God thing makes Him so unpredictable and unreliable as a wish- granter).

Now Obama's pastor for 20 years, it is coming to light, is this radical follower of "black liberation theology," something I had never even heard of until now. World Net Daily has the full expose, but I guess Sean Hannity has been on the case also:

Barack Obama's suddenly radioactive pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, has defended himself against charges of anti-Americanism and racism by referring to his foundational philosophy, the "black liberation theology" of scholars such as James Cone, who regard Jesus Christ as a "black messiah" and blacks as "the chosen people" who will only accept a god who assists their aim of destroying the "white enemy."

"If God is not for us and against white people," writes Cone, "then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community."

Obama claims he knew nothing about all of this. Now, Obama's pastor teaches this at seminaries, so how could it not ever come out in any sermons? So it could be that Obama is a closet racist who has very unbiblical ideas about God.

Then again, World Net Daily points to the opinion of an anonymous reporter, who postulates that Obama is merely using religion to get somewhere politically; and that he is neither a Muslim, a Christain, a new- ager, or a radical racist. His pastor's theology might truly be a surprise to him, because he is faking the whole I am a church- going Christian thing.

But how can we know? The fact is, the Democrats are this close to nominating a complete unknown for their choice for the highest office in the land. He doesn't have enough of a track record politically to draw on, and his claim that he will make a wise choice for President is based on ... what? His skin color? Why is he afraid for people to see who he really is, what is he hiding?

Lesser of three evils?

posted Wednesday, March 5, 2008 :: 11:01 AM

McCain has clinched the Republican nomination, and Huckabee has bowed out. Clinton has refused to fade quietly away into the sunset, and Obama has turned theologian on us, divorcing the New Testament from the Old and assuring everyone that Jesus' Sermon on the Mount endorses same- [s-x] unions.

Why I am scared of McCain: he believes in the power of government to do good, and so he must exercise said power. The founding fathers believed the power of government was a necessary evil, and the less it was wielded, the better off men were.

Why I am scared of Hillary Clinton: she wants to be ruler of the free world SO BADLY. That really makes me nervous.

Why I am scared of Barack Obama: his biggest supporter is influencing millions to fall away from the truth by proclaiming a false Christ and a false gospel, and the candidate himself is not limiting himself to statecraft comments, but is attempting to instruct the church on the theology of Jesus. This from a man raised in a home with long- standing ties to Islam.

Even Lincoln, whose Bible- knowledge and theology was in much better shape than Obama's, refused to engage in religious debates when seeking political office. In 1846 when running for the state congress of Illinois, his opponent was a well- known preacher. After an evangelistic crusade in which the preacher, Lincoln's opponent for congress, asked:

"I observe that many responded to the first invitation to give their hearts to God and go to heaven. And I further observe that all of you save one indicated that you did not desire to go to hell. The sole exception is Mr. Lincoln, who did not respond to either invitation. May I inquire of you, Mr. Lincoln, where are you going?"

Lincoln replied:

"I am going to Congress."

And so he did. I think it takes an appalling lack of humility and reverence for a politician to instruct the church on matters of theology; that raises all kinds of red flags for me.

Supercalifragaliciousexpeallodocous Tuesday

posted Tuesday, February 5, 2008 :: 1:00 PM

Here it is Super Tuesday, and I haven't decided who to vote for in the primaries. The Democrats are out for me. I cannot support a party that makes murder of innocent human life one of its platforms, no matter how qualified the candidates.

So that leaves McCain, Romney, Huckabee, and Ron Paul.

McCain has not made a point of declaring his Christian faith, if he is a believer. If he is an unbeliever, he has already failed in the lowest test of the level of wisdom operating in a person's life. Does anyone know? Also, I am leary of someone so well- beloved by Democrats and the media. There must be a reason.
McCain on the unborn: he is pro-life and has a Senate voting record to match.
McCain on homeschooling: he doesn't seem to be a supporter.
McCain on borders and immigration: he will secure the border, but sounds like he might be for amnesty for illegals.
McCain on Israel: I couldn't find his position, which does not bode well.

Romney is a Mormon. I tend to think that someone deceived by a false prophet is not the best choice.
Romney on the unborn: he is pro- life and anti- embryonic research.
Romney on homeschooling: he seems to be a supporter and is proposing a federal homeschooling tax credit.
Romney on borders and immigration: he will secure the border and is opposed to amnesty.
Romney on Israel: I couldn't find his position, which does not bode well.

Huckabee is a sincere Christian: a point in his favor. I am unsure, though, because I have learned that being a Christian does not necessarily make one wise. Of course, Christians are wiser than unbelievers, by virtue of the fact that they recognize God exists and is to be worshiped. So I am wondering if being a Christian is enough, if that is all the wisdom you have and no more.
Huckabee on the unborn: he is pro-life and has a strong pro-life record as Arkansas governor, and is also opposed to embryonic research.
Huckabee on homeschooling: he is a strong supporter, and also of school choice.
Huckabee on borders and immigration: he is a strong supporter of enforcing our border.
Huckabee on Israel: he supports Israel, and would continue financial and military support.

Ron Paul has not spoken of his faith that I could find. I do know he is a strict constitutionalist, which is a good thing. And he is a supporter of non- government regulation of alternative medicine, so that there could be true health care freedom, another good thing.
Paul on the unborn: he is strongly pro-life (he was an obstetrician for decades before working in Congress, and never performed an abortion, and never saw the need for it to save the life of the mother).
Paul on homeschooling: he is a strong supporter.
Paul on borders and immigration: he would enforce our borders and immigration laws.
Paul on Israel: he would disentangle us from foreign alliances, including Israel. He would cut off funding and military support, not only to Israel, but to every nation, as it is not a constitutionally- empowered function of government. But here is the case he made that his policy would benefit Israel.

To me, my vote is between Huckabee and Ron Paul, the two longest long shots, LOL. I am still not sure who I will vote for tonight.
