To Be More Like Him

Thankful to the Giver?

Hey Everyone!

I have slowed down enough to put in a quick thought. I hope you are as excited about the holidays as I am. I love this time of the year. My family and I all join in together in the kitchen to cook cakes, cookies, pies, dressings, turkeys, hams, etc. I love the gathering of families and friends eating, talking, and carrying on with each other.
Now concerning my thought. I'm thankful for all the material and spiritual things that God has bless me with but, am I thankful to the "Giver" of all things? The main blessing that we should be thankful for is that God gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to us so that we may be saved! And that Jesus Himself was willing to suffer and die for us so we can be with Him in His Heaven.
When I remember what a wretched and hopelessly lost sinner I was (Drug addict, alcoholic, mean, full of anger, fighter, liar, boaster, hater, thief, wreckless driver) living in the bars and clubs, my life brought me from living high on the hog with all the drug money to the eventual end being homeless living in alleys, on top of buildings, and eating out of trashcans. My wife and children can testify to the fact that since Jesus saved me the "old man" is dead! I'm not the same man that I use to be, thanks be to God! I regret my old life and all the memories.
Now I'm a new man in Jesus Christ! I owe Him so much thanks you see. He gave me a new chance in this life to do things His way and a wonderful wife and two precious children, a home, and on and on and on. I'm so thankful to the "Giver of Life", how about you? What has He done for you? Think about it for awhile as your breathing, hearts beating, and eating. Who do you really owe it all to?
That's my thoughts on thankfulness. How about sharing your thoughts in my comments. I would be glad if you did.
Please join me in prayer for all the HomeSchoolers in the world. We are going to need each other in the coming months.

Prayers & Blessings to everyone!!!
Elton

Dec. 22, 2008 - Thank you for the reminder

Elton,

It is this exact kind of transformation that encourages us to remember the faithfulness of our God. You have been through so much and God has made you a "new man". Many blessings as you live that transformation before your family and the world around you. Have a Merry Christmas.
