As our DC were finishing up their math, my DW and I were having a deeply concerning discussion about our niece who attends public school. Her grade average dropped down to a "B" and her Mom was worried that it may drop even lower. We found out reason her grade average was lowering was because she would not do her reading assignments at home. she simply hated to read those boring textbooks.
We all understand about that, right! Most HS'ers (through prayer & practice) develop a passion for reading through good literature. Her Mom called us wanting to know what to do in this situation. So we were deeply concerned and prayerfully discussing what advice we should give her.
When we mentioned her having a "B" average my DS, who is 8yrs, suddenly spoke up and said, "B's are not too bad when there's still 24 letters left in the alphabet."
He caught us completely by surprise and we all looked at each other and burst out in laughter. You never know what to expect when homeschooling. Now concerning HS'ing families there are times of togetherness, times of prayer, times of laughter, times of crying, prayer, times of joy, times of fear, prayer, times of courage, times of disobedience, prayer, times of obedience, times of reproof, rebuke, prayer, and times of correction.
And always times of refreshing, encouragement, communication, times for tea, mother-daughter times, father-son times, family times, times of love, times of love, times of love, and many, many more times of never ending love for one another!
If you want to read a book of love, then read the Bible through God's eyes. Read it from His point of view and you will see the greatest love story ever written from the beginning to the end!
It's all about LOVE!
God's all about LOVE!
God is LOVE!
"He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
1 John 4:8
I jumped around a bit, but these were my thoughts for the day.
