School All Year?

School All Year? Sure, Why Not.

After much prayer and thinking things out we have decided to school our DC all year. You may ask, "why would you want to do that?" We have a problem starting school every year after summer break. Our DC forget so much of what we taught the previous year. Then, here we are having to spend the first couple of weeks learning some lessons all over again.

Now, we will school all year with shorter vacation breaks here and there. This will make our HSing days less stressful with less work per day. More enjoyable with more breaks (2 vacations, several 1 and 2 day field trips, longer reading times, more books and more library time) which brings an even more relaxed school day. We already use the CM approach which is already a relaxed way to school and very effective. Our DC love it!

My whole family loves the fact that we will have more reading and library time. We also love having more time to watch the Florida educational Network. They have so much to add to our school day with United States and world history, science, geography, reenactments, experiments, interviews with authors, inventors, successful business people, money management, and even a little math. It's all done in a fun and interesting way with children in mind!

We love HSing so much!!! Our vacations are planned out to enhance our schooling with museums, nature walks, and historical sites. We start our day with prayer and end it with prayer. God has helped us so much that I could write a book (Hey, now that's a thought!) on the subject.
